"Had a lovely time in your chateau, thanks very much. The house was really beautiful, loads of space and lots of quirky features like the piano, vintage bicycles and attic rooms. Lady next door selling local cognac was very friendly. At night the sky was so dark, excellent for stargazing. The river charente is lovely for swimming in. Super!"

"It's well located near gorgeous villages, and the garden is beautiful. We had a lovely meal in the garden as the sun set - the exterior of the house is very atmospheric. However, the interior is in desperate need of modernising. The kitchen is rather make-shift and poorly equipped, and the bathroom is tired. With a bit of thought put in (new kitchen/bathroom) and a good clean, the property could be amazing. But for us the big problem was the steep stairs and unsafe rail at the top of the stairs...

"Une maison, c'est vrai un peu vieillotte mais où l'on s'y sent très bien, chacun son espace, des espaces pour être ensemble. Bien équipée, spcieuse, des fenêtes comme des tableaux sur la nature et un magnifique environnement bien entretenu. Accueil sympathique. Un seul petit bémol sur l'entretien de la piscine qui n'avait visiblement pas été fait pour notre arrivée. Seule une personne a osé se baigner."

Plus if you are looking for excellent and affordable local restaurants, you are in for great surprises. The place is very comfortable, well equipped, has character and certainly cool during hot days. The nearby pool is overlooking fields and hills and offers a great site for enjoying sunsets. Perfect!"

"We loved the feeling of this place, as soon as we drove up the driveway. Everything about it was beautiful and I actually cried on the day we had to leave..... The accommodation was perfect for the three of us, me, my Husband and our Hungarian Vizsla, Hudson. We enjoyed the pool, walks around the stunning grounds, the views, the river access...... We even stayed an extra night, of which the hosts were great! We'll be re-booking again soon. So glad we found this unique little sanctuary of peace...

"Very peaceful home in rural France. Positives are that it is a lovely house, very clean, well equipped with everything that you need. Michel is an amazing host and was so kind and nothing too much trouble for him. Really amazing host. It had all the features that you would expect from a rustic home. The downside is that you need a car. There are no taxis and if you do get one the price is very very expensive. A car is essential. Thank you to Michel."

"Quiet location - except for one night with noisy neighbours! Good area for cycling and lots of nice picnic areas by watet. Good for walking. House well appointed and the downstairs in particular was COOL. Much appreciated when the temp got to 39C! Owners next door and very helpful. Thoroughly recommend."

Staircase to the bedroom balcony makes a bathroom trip in the depths of night a precarious adventure but the overall ambience and amenities are delicious . Superbly comfy sofas and French scrabble makes the evenings simple fly by ."
