A quaint and quirky 1-bedroom cottage on the Main Street of the coastal village of Golspie.

Anvil House is a charming self-contained one-bedroom cottage nestled in the heart of Golspie village. Set within the historic Anvil House, this hidden gem is full of character and offers a perfect retreat for couples or solo travellers seeking a cosy and convenient getaway.

North Coast Holiday Homes is not located on site, however, we are more than happy to help if you have any questions.

Golspie village itself is a gem of the east coast of Sutherland, boasting an award-winning beach, an eighteen-hole golf course, and a range of outdoor activities suitable for all levels. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a history buff, or simply seeking relaxation, Golspie is the perfect place to stay for everyone.

Venture into the surrounding area to explore top-class mountain biking trails, the exhilarating Sutherland Kart Track, and the serene Little Ferry Nature Reserve. Golspie's renowned walking routes, including Balblair woods and the Ben Bhraggie hike, promise unforgettable adventures with breathtaking views across Sutherland and the North Sea.

For those with a penchant for history, a visit to Dunrobin Castle is a must. Just a short drive away, this magnificent castle stands as a testament to Scotland's rich heritage. Dunrobin Castle has a wide range of history waiting to be discovered in both the castle and the garden museum. There are large beautifully maintained gardens to the rear if the castle which frequently host falconry shows, and a small shop and café for picking up a souvenir and a bite to eat.

Additionally, Golspie's proximity to the historic town of Dornoch and the small village of Brora make it the perfect place to stay when looking for a golfing retreat in Sutherland. Within a half an hour drive from Golspie, you can visit the Royal Dornoch, Brora, Helmsdale, Tain and Bonar Bridge & Ardgay Golf Courses.

With its blend of quaint charm and a wealth of local amenities, the village of Golspie invites you to seek outdoor adventure or peaceful relaxation.

Anvil House is located next to the A9 making it the ideal place for someone to stay if using Public Transport upon arrival or departure with the Stagecoach bus stops being no more than a 1 minute walk from the front door. The property is also very well lit at night due to the surrounding street lights.

Anvil House does not have allocated parking spots, however, there is free on-street parking available throughout the Main Street. Please note that parking is limited and used by the public. There is usually no issue with parking space, however, availability is not 100% guaranteed.

Step inside to the living room which exudes warmth with its snug wood burner, inviting you to curl up with a book or enjoy your favourite shows on the TV.

The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to enjoy a home cooked meal, furnished with a cooker, fridge, and washing machine, ensuring you have everything you need for your stay. The bathroom, complete with a shower over bath, provides a refreshing space to start or end your day.

The bedroom on the first-floor hosts a king-size bed, and is fully equipped with bed linen and towels for throughout your stay. You will also find drawers, hangers, and hairdryers available for your use.

Outside, a small patio offers a tranquil spot to sip your morning coffee or enjoy al fresco dining amidst the gorgeous sunsets. As a pet-friendly accommodation, Anvil House warmly welcomes furry companions to join in on all your vacation fun.

When travelling to Anvil House, we highly recommend researching your public transport routes or ensuring that you have access to a car.

Unfortunately, Golspie does not have access to apps such as Lyft or Uber, and our only modes of public transport are Bus (Stagecoach), Train (Scotrail), and the occasional private hire Taxi company.
