A beach stay,
This home didn’t meet our expectations but our expectations are high. We may have a different perspective coming from America of what accommodations come with a rental. We had to go out and buy toilet paper, salt, pepper, and recycling/compost/trash bags. There is hand soap but no body wash/shampoo/conditioner. Which makes sense retrospectively because Sardinia has strict recycle laws and maybe they don’t want a bunch of extra bottles. The couple from France seemed to understand these expectations and came more prepared than we did. I borrowed her salt to make pasta. I can not believe there wasn’t one roll of toilet paper when we came. After traveling from USA > Sardinia at 8pm this wasn’t a pleasant arrival experience.
The most disappointing aspect for us was the AC wall unit was in the kitchen and cooled the kitchen/living room. However, it did not cool the first floor’s two bedrooms. Forget about going upstairs to sleep it is sweltering like an attic. We were here in September. We ended up going to a hotel for two nights because it was just too hot to sleep.
The twin beds are also very firm. The “master” bed slightly more give but still firm. Again, as Americans I’m used to different mattresses and knew this going in but with the AC compounded, it was just too much to stay.
The beach access is really lovely. The views are amazing.
The showers are teeny. I could hardly reach up to wash my hair long hair.
Spending days in the sun is draining so when doing I beach stay I tend to want nice accommodations to recharge.
Arrival was bumpy but I blame us. We didn’t have our SIM cards and no way of contacting the host. We ended up going to a local beach and humming someone’s hotspot to message the host to let us in. He will also do an in person check before you leave. Which is fine and totally reasonable but make sure to plan ahead if you have an early flight.
Would not recommend unless you’re used to these expectations.
There was a floor fan and ceiling fans. However, the ceilings are high so you can’t feel the breeze. Thank goodness for the floor fan the first night or it would’ve been miserable.
You’ll need a car to go anywhere.
Hope this is helpful to someone.
