Dogtooth Vista is ideally located on Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and has great ‘ski-in ski–out’ access. Watch the sunrise over panoramic views of Mt Seven, Yoho National Park, and the Blaeberry through floor-to-ceiling gable end windows. The west gable with its large window onto the ski hill and the Dogtooth Mountain range becomes the centre of attention in the late afternoon. The sunken hot tub offers a great place to gather after an exhilarating day skiing or imagine simply lounging on the sun-soaked expansive rear deck.

The Chalet uniquely combines the old-world rustic qualities of a mountain retreat with modern convenience and technology. The centerpiece of the house is a grand great room which is divided by a two-sided wood burning fireplace into a large spacious kitchen and central island perfect for apres ski festivities, and a comfortable living room. Through the center of the house runs a large impressive timber frame truss, an architectural reflection on the early 20th century activities of the logging railroad, which is still evident traversing through the Dawn Mountain Cross Ski trails just to the rear of the chalet. In contrast, 21st-century amenities are in abundance and include Wifi internet, streamed tv and movies, HD satellite tv, large private outdoor hot-tub, wet-dry Finnish sauna, gourmet kitchen, granite countertops, great room with a 20-foot ceiling, dining room, geothermal radiant heat on all floors, two-sided wood fireplace and wood-stove, drying area and ski storage, tasteful furnishings.

The chalet is very spacious (3400 sq ft)with four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, and sleeps comfortably 6- 12 people. The 4th bedroom also doubles up as a recreation room and is ideally suited for older children with foosball and table tennis being available on that level. It is perfect for couples and families with flexible rates available.

This idyllic retreat is truly the best of both worlds; perfectly positioned for winter and summer vacations.

Situated in a natural, rural setting amongst the trees, you can enjoy privacy while relaxing in the hot tub on the deck. Ski in-ski out downhill access trails close by, cross-country ski trails, mountain bike, hike or walk - off the beaten track - directly from your door. For the more adventurous, world class backcountry skiing and mountaineering can be experienced at Roger’s Pass and the Bugaboos. Summer activities include 18 hole golf, horseback riding, paragliding, swimming, canoeing, fishing, rock climbing.

Located in a private residential area with access to some of the best skiing in North America and the many fine restaurants, stores, and entertainment available at the Kicking Horse.

Specific details regarding sleeping accommodation include:

Four spacious bedrooms with one king-sized bed that can be divided into singles in each room; the master bedroom has an additional single bed and an underneath pull out single trundle bed perfect for a single-family, two extremely comfortable queen-size pull-out sofa mattresses are situated in the loft area and 4th bedroom. Please note that the loft area is open to kitchen/living area below and front gable windows.

This was a wonderful home within relatively close proximity to Banff, Yoho, and Glacier National parks. Ping pong and foosball were devoured by all. Plenty of supplies and dishes in the kitchen. Owner was very easy to communicate with and accommodating! Would definitely stay here again!!!

Great house!
We took a large family group to the Canadian Rockies and this house was perfect. Plenty of room for 8 adults and 3 kids. Views were beautiful from the balcony and the hot tub was refreshing after a day of sightseeing! The kitchen was well equipped and lots of space for eating. We'd love to have stayed longer!!!

Family time
The property was beautiful and a great layout for a large or small group. Lots of dishes and large pots for feeding a group. Loved that they worked with us with options on beds, kings or twins, depending what we wanted. A wonderful place to build family memories. As the youngest grandchild says “a holiday house”. Thanks for letting us build memories!

Even more beautiful than the pictures
We stayed here for 7 days and the home was everything we could have asked for and more. After long days skiing Kicking Horse the Hot Tub was AWESOME! The kitchen is beautiful and we cooked almost all our meals here. We were a party of five adults and two teenages and two kids and we had ample sleeping room and great sit down dinners together. The owners are very easy to communicate with and have a beautiful, clean property that we would recommend to anyone!

Dog Tooth Vista is the perfect getaway
I would highly recommend booking this fabulous home for a family/friend getaway. It is even better than the photos portray. It is extremely clean with very comfortable beds and even comes stocked with some essentials unlike other homes we have rented. The fireplace and hot tub make for a perfect day after some skiing or a hike. Danielle is super helpful and always responds to enquiries. Seriously did not want to leave and will be back! Thank you so much for this fabulous getaway

Perfect Family Trip
We stayed at the chalet for a week for a family get together. It was perfect! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook for a large group. There was plenty of space for us all to spread out. The two fridges were crucial for storing all our food. The hot tub and sauna were lovely as the temperatures cooled down. FYI - we learned you cannot hike up Kickinghorse and we did not know that, so we did have to drive 15+ minutes to get to trailheads. I wish we had known that prior to planning a trip to this area but it all worked out.

Guys riding trip
Very clean and well equipped chalet for our large group of adults. Hot tub was awesome and having the grill right out the door was nice for cooking for the group. Everything worked and was as advertised on VRBO. Wonderful place in a great neighborhood and Danielle was super about promptly answering any questions we had. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for close accommodations to Kicking Horse. Ski in/out may be a bit of a stretch (admittedly, we didn't know how to navigate through neighborhood trails) but it was a very short walk/drive to the resort. Note the Pioneer lift closest to the chalet was closed during the week.

Not really ski-in/out, but super convenient
Cool house, with a beautiful view. Would definitely book again. We loved the hot tub and the sauna. Plus the layout of the house is great for hanging out as a group. The 2 things that I wasn't crazy about: 1. it's really not ski-in/out, as it's definitely a hike to the lift, but on the plus side there's tons of convenient parking at the base lodge; 2. the the owner asked for a bunch of info on each individual person staying at the house under the guise of it was needed for insurance, but after a quick google search, it was clear that it's not... If the owner wants to play that game, they should state that that information will be requested upfront in the posting.

Excellent!
We stayed at this house for 3 days in March 2014. Two families, 8 people in total. We travel a lot, and most of the time we rent cottages/chalets for our stay. I believe this was the best house we ever rented, very spacious, clean, modern, equipped with everything we needed. Although it is possible to get from the house to the ski lifts on skis, which requires some skating and crossing some roads, we chose to drive to the resort parking lot (~2 mins max). Every day after skiing at Kicking Horse we would put on the XC skis and spend some time on the XC trails which basically start next to the house. The rental process was straightforward, very friendly owner, overall an excellent experience. We would definitely try to stay at this same place for our next visit to Kicking Horse.

Beautiful home with a spectacular vista.
We stayed at Dogtooth Close for 4 nights. The home is located very near to the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, about 15 minutes up the "hill" from the town of Golden. The home is spacious, well maintained, and very nicely decorated. The kitchen was truly one in which cooking was a pleasure. We ate in 3 nights out of 4 while we were in the home. The house has 4 good size bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a sauna located in the lower level bathroom and a hot tub on the back deck. The views from the kitchen, upper level loft and back deck are of mountains. We had some hazy days while there, however the first day did reveal the spectacular views. There is also a foosball table, ping pong table, and some board games. It was too hot for a fire, but there is a lovely fireplace in the living room and dining areas. Danielle was very easy to work with and my questions were always answered in a timely fashion. In the summer, there is hiking on Kicking Horse Mountain, Moonraker trails, the Eagle Eye Gondola on Kicking Horse Mountain, and the Columbia wetlands are about 30 minutes away. There are many mountain biking trails nearby as well. Although we didn't go to Glacier, it is about 1 hour away and Emerald Lake is about a 40 minute drive. We would highly recommend this home to others!!!

Elegant, sophisticated chalet in ideal location
Danielle's chalet at Kicking Horse is quite extraordinary. The spacious interior, gleaming hardwood floors, vaulted ceiling and glorious natural lighting from the oversized windows created a welcoming sanctuary that was both refined and down-to-earth. The choice of decor and the color palette of the selected art offered an elegant accent to the natural textures of the wood beams. The gourmet kitchen predominated the main floor with its enormous counter space and was stocked with all of the necessary appliances and an astonishingly large and tasteful selection of plates, glasses, cutlery as well as a wide assortment of pots, pans and utensils. In addition, there was a gas grill on the back deck that was convenient for grilling our burgers, steaks, kebabs, and chicken. The adjoining dining and living rooms had comfortable chairs and sofas and offered a soft, muted lighting that was welcome in the evenings and created a comfortable atmosphere for reading a book, playing board games or just enjoying a drink. The view of the mountains from the front balcony was lovely, particularly in the morning, as my wife and I sipped a cup of coffee and planned our day's activities. After our hikes, we certainly took advantage of the delightful hot tub and sauna as it was soothing for our muscles and our kids enjoyed that the hot tub had an option for a colorful light show under the jetting bubbles. Both of our boys are avid soccer players so they were thrilled that there was a full-sized foosball table that was available for them to play with downstairs, along with the ping-pong table in the garage. At the end of the day, we were grateful for the soft, comfortable king-sized beds and adjoining bathrooms that were spacious and had large showers. The location of the Kicking Horse resort is a bit removed from immediate access to nearby Golden as it is about 15 minutes away from a grocery store, which is mildly inconvenient. However, its location to Yoho and Banff national parks was ideal for us as we often traveled no more than 30-60 minutes by car to arrive at hiking trails that were breathtaking in their natural beauty, and surprisingly lightly trafficked by other hikers which made for a more peaceful, rejuvenating experience. We felt that each day's activities were remarkable for the memories that they generated, but that it always started and ended well due to the sophisticated amenities of Danielle's chalet.
