Once you enter the driveway and proceed up to the house, you will immediately feel like you are on vacation.

And, Travel + Leisure recently named Gloucester’s Good Harbor Beach one of the best beaches in the United States! USA Today recently ranked Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester as one of the best beaches in the Northeast. CNN recently included Gloucester in the list of “15 of America’s best small towns and cities.”

A substantial modernization was recently completed. ALL furniture and décor was replaced with contemporary pieces. All 3 bathrooms were modernized (including the spa-like master bathroom), and the home will had new paint and styling throughout. All bedrooms feature brand new hotel-quality linens and bath towels. This spacious home features large windows that invite the extraordinary view indoors. The spacious and open floor plan includes a large living room with high ceilings and a fireplace (and flat screen television), and an ample dining area (and outdoor decks). The home’s four bedrooms include a gracious cathedral ceiling master bedroom with King bed and en suite bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower. A second bedroom on the first floor sleeps three, and an additional baby crib is also available. A full bathroom with shower/tub is adjacent. Two additional bedrooms (one queen bed; two twin beds) and a large bathroom on the second floor offer privacy. The first floor of the home is wheelchair accessible. The entire house is air conditioned. Or, if you prefer, you can enjoy the peaceful breeze air and open the two sets of screened Anderson gliding doors (decks are off the dining room and master bedroom).
The home has gorgeous panoramic views of hundreds of acres of water (during high tides), beautiful marshes and conservation land, and is a 5-minute walk (or a 1-minute drive) to private dock access through the Rust Island Owners Association. There are plenty of spots nearby to launch kayaks (please contact us for details).
Wingaersheek Beach and Good Harbor Beach – both of which are considered among the best beaches in New England are within a 10-minute drive. Several other smaller beaches are equally close to the property.
ABOUT GLOUCESTER:
Whether you’re a beachgoer, a foodie, an artist or a history buff (or all of the above), the City of Gloucester has it all. Visitors enjoy spectacular beaches (Wingaersheek, Good Harbor and many more) only a 9-minute drive from the home. Gloucester was one of the first English settlements (1623), predating both Salem in 1626 and Boston in 1630, in what would later become the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
CLOSE PROXIMITY TO BOSTON AND AIRPORT:
> Only a 40 minute drive from downtown Boston and Boston’s Logan Airport. While the home feels like a private retreat, you are only 0.3 miles from Route 128 (Crafts Road Rust Island exit) on the west side of Gloucester directly before the Annisquam River Bridge, so you conveniently avoid most summer traffic).
> Only a 5 minute drive from West Gloucester commuter rail station that goes to Boston’s North Station in ~57 minutes (for those that would need to commute into Boston during your stay).
CLOSE PROXIMITY TO WATER:

> Numerous other great restaurants are within minutes of the home.
> Several great grocery stores and farm stands are within minutes of the home, including Marshall’s Farm Stand, Whole Foods and Market Basket.

> Visit the Cape Ann Museum, Sargent House Museum, White Ellery House, Rocky Neck Art Colony (America’s oldest working art colony), and many other historical or cultural sites.
> Spend a day 15 miles away visiting historic Salem, Massachusetts (among other things, site of the famous witch trials in 1692, the birthplace of the National Guard in 1637, and also home to the Peabody Essex Museum -- one of the oldest continuously operating museums in the United States).
> Movies: Gloucester has two movies theaters near the home (Gloucester Cinema and the Cape Ann Cinema)

> Hiking: Our property is 2 acres and filled with fun things to explore. We are also 12 minute drive to Ravenswood Park (10 miles of great hiking trails) and the Cape Ann Discover Center for kids.
> Kayaks, SUP and Surfing: Cape Ann SUP and Surf in Gloucester and North Shore Adventures in Rockport both offer a variety of great kayak tours, lessons, and rentals.
> Golf: Three great golf courses nearby the house, including Bass Rocks Golf Club is 9 minute drive, Cape Ann Golf is a 12 minute drive, and Rockport Golf Club is a 18 minute drive.
> Local gyms include Crossfit Cape Ann, Cape Ann YMCA, and Fitness Zone Gloucester. Gloucester also has numerous yoga studios.
RULES:
We have had dozens of amazing guests, partially because we are totally upfront on the house rules in advance (please do not book this home if it will not be a good fit for your group).
This is our family vacation home, so we ask that you treat it as you would treat your own! :)
We have a reasonable set of rules designed to respect our neighbors, ensure the safety of our guests, and protect our property. The organizer for each booking will be required to sign a strictly worded Rental Agreement, with language explicitly discussing our expectations concerning noise, smoking, occupancy limits, property damage and cleanliness. The host may use exterior security cameras to monitor activity outside of the home. The organizer will be required to provide the scan of a photo ID for booking, as well as the full name of each member of the group. This is a requirement of our insurer and not subject to negotiation.

- Photo ID may be required upon check-in
- No alcohol consumption by guests under 21
