"A good, clean and comfortable hotel in the centre of town. "

"We had a lovely short stay at The Talbot. Rooms were clean and spacious, equipped with all the facilities needed for an overnight stay. The bedside book by local author was a lovely touch. The breakfast was extensive, and plenty of options for vegetarian and vegan guests. It would have been nice to have a vegan pastry option but great that a full vegan breakfast and condiments were on the menu. Waiting and reception staff were polite, kind and extremely helpful. My only complaint was that the bed in my room was uncomfortable (this wasn't the case for other guests). The mattress seemed lumpy and the bed base could be felt through the mattress, meaning I had a poor night's sleep. Aside from this, I could not fault the hotel staff and facilities, hence the 5 star review. Thank you for a very pleasant stay! "

"This hotel overlooks Rutland Reservoir and had some amazing views. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had afternoon tea in the Blossoms which was tasty and filling. And the breakfast was amazing, literally everything you could want. The only problem we had was, we booked a "cozy" double, their cheapest room, which was in the eaves and had slanted ceilings and unfortunately the placement of the shower meant neither me (5 foot 10) or my hubby (6 foot 2) could stand up in it."

"A one night stay the room was clean comfortable and quiet. The breakfast offered a good selection. Staff were helpful. The fruite juice was over diluted."

"We had a good experience at this hotel. Wonderful location right next to the Curve auditorium and the Athena centre. Didn't want to go far from the hotel so we had a good meal in the restaurant. Nice touch was that the chef came out and asked if we had enjoyed our meal - which we confirmed we had. The front of house staff were very polite and helpful with any questions we had. Our room was on Level 1. It was clean and tidy and had everything that we needed. The heating was controlled by yourself so we soon had the room warm. Lovely hot shower in the wet room. Beds were comfortable and we had a very good night's sleep. Our only one point was that if we stayed again, we would request a room without an adjoining door as when our neighbours returned, it was quite noisy and it felt like that they were in the same room as us!"
