"From the time of check in to check out, everyone was friendly. Erik took care of us at time of check in. we did have an issue with the heater, the lady, that worked the morning shift. Got maintenance up to the hotel room right away. Ricardo maintenanceman, did a great job getting that heater issue taken care of. Very clean comfortable place to stay. If ever needed to be in portland overnight, this will be a place to stay again."

"Although we were at the airport, we did not hear planes all night. Very pleased about that. Front desk was so helpful and interested in helping arrange transportation to meet our early morning flight. Will stay there again. "

"We really like the Mark Spencer. A friend introduced us to it. Located right near Powell’s, it’s an older building and a relief to be in a genuinely decorated hotel rather than chain buildings. Good coffee in the lobby, usable gym, great location. I don’t know if the hotel is backing off the perfumed cleaning products or was proactive with our request to not have scented products used in our room, but it was so appreciated to be in a clean, spotless room that didn’t smell strongly of fragrance. Yay! I genuinely appreciate the creative feel, wonderful location proximate to Powell’s and the analog, old school warmth of this good hotel. We look forward to our next Portland escape and will definitely stay here again. "
