We had a great stay the fishing was amazing. We caught so many fish my shoulder was hurting ,lol. wife caught the bigest though. would recommend to anyone that wants to unplug . Great place to stay , great people as well .
It was nice to watch my grandkids put away their electronic devices and enjoy the great outdoors. They fished, kayaked, swam, and just hung out. Was a great time just relaxing.
Beautiful place with solitude and a friendly staff. Keep in mind that the cabin is very small. Smaller than pics would indicate. No sink or running water or restroom inside. Everything is outside and the separate bathroom is separate but very nice. It is it a beautiful and quite place for a getaway, and just a short distance from Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area.
There is some vagueness in the property listing about the size and usage of the property. The property manager greeted me upon arrival and was friendly and helpful. He advised us that the lower and larger pond is a private waters club lake and was off limits. We had full access to one large pond and a smaller pond each of which containing all you can catch 1/4-2lb bass. We checked in at 4pm on a friday with great weather caught atleast 30 bass in two hours time. On saturday it rained allday, but the rain slowed enough around 4pm and were able to hook onto anther 15 fish. on Sunday the weather cleared and the fish decided not to bite so we packed up and were gone by the 12pm check out time. Many of the reviews mention the exterior bathroom as a problem, but i think it makes this place unique. All of the exterior cabin and pond cleaniness is spot on, but the interior of the cabin could use a little attention to detail. I am not sure about the reviews about the catfish and crappy fishing for the ponds we had access to, so id say just go prepared to catch unlimited smaller bass. The john boat and kayaks on site are a nice touch!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
I would have loved to given the place 5 stars cause it’s a beautiful place & Robbie the host is such a nice man. We will go back!!!
Only reason I gave 3 stars on cleanliness is:
The outdoor kitchen needs the gas grill replaced cause the bottom is rusted out & needs a little more TLC.
We loved the place, the cabin, the quietness and we all had a great time fishing. Property owner was awesome to communicate with as was the property manager. Great people and definitely plan to come back.
Our stay here was fantastic, plenty to do for our 9 and 16 year old. Husband and son fished sun up to sun down and caught a handful of 5 pounders, and over a 100 total for the weekend. The kids loved the kayaks, and we brought some floaties to float around in as well. We will absolutely be back!
