"Although we were aware that the hotel was closing we still expected 4 star accommodation as that is what we paid for. The pool and terrace area were in a very bad state of disrepair and the pool area unusable. We asked for an upgrade to a sea view as there road works at the front of the building and therefore noisy but were told ( 6 hrs after asking and having to ask again)that no rooms were available although the hotel was clearly far from busy. "Great location and proximity to the cable car and the rock of Gibraltar (5 minute walk). Free parking which proved useful. It’s kind of “the” hotel due to its location to the rock. It’s a tourist haven (probably to be expected) and generally well put together with stylings of history and celebrity guests though it could be spruced up a bit. But it’s clean and convenient. The desk staff has a few less than helpful folks which was unfortunate but others on staff make up for it. "
