Two Amazing Cabins One Low Price! Fireplace, Wfi, Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Fenced Yard

Location, Location, Fantastic Location!
Enjoy your next Mountain Vacation in these TWO Amazing Log Cabins. The Lodge on Chestnut Hill features TWO Authentic “Turn of the Century” log cabins. Yes, you get two cabins for the price of one!

These 2 historic log cabins are really something special. They are the corner stone of our mountain community and they're full of spicy folklore that we would love to share with you! Built in 1920 and completely renovated in 2018, we were able to restore the original luster of the hand hewed log walls and magnificent stone fireplace. Then we added just a few modern conveniences. The Main Cabin features two bedrooms with new queen pillow top mattresses that will ensure a perfectly comfortable stay. There is also a small bedroom area also has a new twin pillow top mattress. Keeping with the era, the bathroom in the main cabin features the original clawfoot tub/shower. The deck features a gas grill, hot tub, dining table and beautiful mountain views.

Right next door, the Sunflower Cabin features a beautiful vaulted ceiling that expands through the kitchen, living room and master bedroom. The cabin has two bedrooms with queen beds and a walk in shower in the bathroom. The bonus room or sunroom is a wonderful gathering space. The deck has a gas grill, a dining table with 4 chairs and amazing mountain views.

Both cabins have WiFi Intenet, flat screen smart TV's, with YouTubeTV for local broadcasting and Free Netflix!

And of course, pets are always welcome! We just fenced in the back yard to insure the safety of your kids and pets. PLEASE NOTE: If you're bringing a pet there is a one time $75 pet fee.

Conveniently located 12 miles from Asheville and 8 miles from Chimney Rock & Lake Lure. This historic log cabin is perfect for those who want to be in the mountains but close enough to Asheville to enjoy all that the city has to offer.

Enjoy our cool evenings in front of the large stone fireplace. Relax under the stars in the hot tub, or roast marshmallows around the fire pit, or enjoy family Barbecues on the deck with amazing mountain views. Whether you’re planning a Romantic get away or a large family reunion the Lodge at Chestnut Hills and the Sunflower Cabin will definitely surpass your wildest expectations!

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS:
5 minutes: Bear Wallow Trail, Hickory Nut Trail.
10 minutes: French Broad River, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure Beach, Water Park & Boat Rentals.
30 minutes: Asheville, Biltmore Estates, Hendersonville, Saint Paul's Vineyards, Green River Tubing, Zip-lining, Tryon Equestrian Center.

This cabin is easily accessible in the winter months, but we highly recommended four-wheel drive in January-February.

Gorgeous Mountain Views
The cabins were as advertised plenty of room for the family. The weather was a bit stormy but we still enjoyed being outside under the stars when it wasn't rainy. The cabins are far enough away from the hustle to enjoy peaceful evenings but close enough to Asheville that everything is right at your fingertips. Thanks for being such great hosts for our family getaway.

Perfection!
I'm in love with these two 100+ year old cabins with the unique walkway in between them. It was absolutely perfect for our stay for our daughter's graduation. The main house definitely accommodated our wheelchair accessibility needs. Loved the fenced in area for our small dog. Can't say enough great things about this place! Thank you!

Christmas with adult children
We stayed in these two cabins for our Christmas celebration as a family. It was easy to get to a beautiful location and exactly as described. Very well appointed kitchens with practically everything you could need. Nice to have the washer dryer for wet towels from the hot tub. Water pressure was amazing and very cold! As mentioned in other reviews the cabin needs a good dusting and we had a little trouble with the dishwasher getting things clean. But neither was a dealbreaker. Nice fenced in yard for the dogs which was a huge bonus.

Charming cabin outside of Asheville
This 100 year old cabin was very charming. It had all the modern amenities you needed while retaining the uniqueness of a old cabin. We had 6 adults, 2 kids, and an infant and enjoyed having the two cabins close together. The hot tub was a nice amenity and the view was great from the porch! We spent one night in the hot tub stargazing. The Roku TVs and WiFi worked well in the main cabin. It was hard to get WiFi in the flower cabin. Most of the beds were very comfortable, but the twin in the main cabin was very squeaky. It’s about 30 minutes from downtown Asheville. There are hiking trails nearby. We also enjoyed going to Chimney Rock one day which is about 15 min away. My only critique is that it could have been a little cleaner- very dusty ceiling fans and cobwebs in the corners of rooms, but overall it was fairly clean.

Great location
Great location for the price. 20 minutes to asheville and 20 minutes to Henderson. Quiet street with friendly neighbors that live there. Host very helpful and responsive to questions... easy to check in and out. Felt like we had plenty of room to spread out. 9 of us shared both cabins. Nice to have 2 kitchens... outside decks were nice to sit on. Cell service and wifi a little shoddy but definitely no fault of anyone's, it is just due to location. Overall, we had a great stay.

Family Fun In The Mountains
What a lovely vacation we had in Gerton, North Carolina last week! We had the loveliest cabins. The layout of the main cabin and suite cabin was perfect for a mom and her 5 twenty something children who like to hang out together, but enjoy some privacy as well. Everything was updated very well for these beautiful 100 year old cabins with what looked like plenty of historic charm with the log walls and stone fireplaces. We had all the modern conveniences while enjoying the historical touches in decor. It truly felt like we were transported in time to more simple mountain living, yet had everything we could possibly need for our 21st century lives. We all enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit at night staring at the gorgeous starry sky that we can’t see in the city. The mountains felt close enough to touch and it was a pleasure to sit on the front porch(complete with the screen door of my childhood) in the morning and drink my coffee while the young adults slept. I have been using vacation rentals for decades and this kitchen had everything I needed and more to fix my brood lovely meals when we weren’t exploring the city or smaller towns around the cabin. It was a short drive into Asheville where we found many tasty cafes and loads of art stores and art malls. We are an art, music and literature family, so this was really fun. We all enjoyed Lake Lure and the mountain village of Chimney Rock we drove through to get to Lake Lure. You can even just pull over and splash in a mountain stream! I think what our family enjoyed the most is hanging at the cabins in the evening and renewing bonds and strengthening them. COVID took our youngest in 2021 around this week and we just wanted to honor him by continuing to live the best lives we could. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabins with us. We have memories that will strengthen us as we continue to heal. Blessings, The Jackson Family

Lovely cabins for a girls getaway
Charming, rustic and authentic North Carolina feel to this property. The two cabins were ideal for a long weekend away with my sisters and female cousins. However, the claw foot tub looks nice but wasn’t very practical and all the bedrooms needed some hooks for hanging up towels, bags, bathing suits, etc. Using the pull-out sofa bed in the main living area would have been impossible, so two people had to share a queen bed. The sofa bed and the twin bed weren’t real options for sleeping comfortably… the twin bed in the room with the swinging doors was very squeaky and the unlucky person who had that room didn’t sleep very well at all. Good location, quiet and within 30 minutes of all our planned activities: lake Lure, Chimney Rock, hiking on nearby trails, Asheville shopping, dining and the Biltmore. We especially enjoyed the main cabin fireplace in the evenings and the sun porch in the sunflower cabin for our morning coffee. It was the brightest room of the property. It was very nice to have a washer and dryer to use after a long day of hiking. Overall it was a very nice place. Thank you!

Great getaway
Plenty of items in the kitchen. Beds are comfy. Wifi is a bit spotty so don’t plan on teleworking from the location. Trash was a huge issue because of a sneaky bear. The owner worked really hard to secure the trash can outside and that bear was able to still get in and grab items (trash was from leftover from before we even stayed there). We had to pick up trash several times as that bear drug it all across the street and into the neighbors yard. When you stay, it’s advisable to keep your bags indoors until you leave. Other than that, we had a great experience.

Beautiful and Relaxing
This home is so gorgeous even if we didn't do any site seeing I would have been satisfied with the views. Our family felt so relaxed and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The hiking, hot tub and puzzle were just a few of my favorites. My husband and dog even got to see a bear on trash pick up day. I highly recommend this place to stay. Several amazing hiking trails less than a mile away. The perfect location.

Family Vacation
Great property for a family or couples weekend. What I loved about the property was that the main cabin had everything we needed. I feel I could host a Thanksgiving dinner there and not bring a thing. I also loved having two cabins. We had three adult generations vacationing together. The parents and grandparents were able to sleep in one cabin while the younger adults had another to themselves. We didn't have to worry about issues with varying bedtimes. I noticed a prior review on the neighbors and have to say that we didn't have any issues with the neighbors. In fact everyone we met was very friendly. The house next to the cabin had music on the Friday night before we left but I didn't feel it was that loud or bothered us. I definitely recommend this property.
