This property was wonderful to stay at during our time in Georgetown. The hotel itself is new and very beautiful. Comfortable bed, hot shower, a great breakfast, and complimentary water. The staff was wonderful. The owner was quick to answer any questions we had about the city and arranged a taxi to and from the airport for us. Since we arrived late, he even had the driver stop so we could pick up some dinner on the way to the hotel. I have not felt so appreciated as a hotel guest like this at any other hotel. This is the only hotel I would stay at on our next trip to Georgetown!

The staff were courteous and friendly and this created a welcoming environment The hotel looked surprisingly like the photos online. No phone in the room to call the front desk and no toiletries in the room so bring or buy your own; but otherwise a great and affordable place to stay that is conveniently located close to the market.

I'd stay at this hotel again, but I was expecting something really different based on the average rating from other Hotels.com customers. Check-in was a comedy of errors. The hotel had contacted me through Hotels.com's messaging system and also on WhatsApp. It turns out this was two different hotel employees. (The one on WhatsApp literally didn't even know that Hotels.com has a messaging system and denied that anyone from the hotel could have contacted me.) We were expecting a driver to pick us up at the airport. Because of the messaging confusion, this didn't happen. We messaged the hotel on WhatsApp from the airport. (We not only did not get a response, but the message wasn't even read until 12 hours later.) So we took a taxi. We arrived at the hotel at 7am to find all the doors locked. We banged on them. No response. Our taxi driver kindly called the hotel and we finally got someone to open the door. I feel bad for that employee: she was single-handedly trying to cook breakfast for all the guests, set up the dining room, and staff the front desk. This is why the doors were locked. The hotel had told us in advance that their credit-card machine was down. (I bet it is always "down.") We were assured there were "many other" forms of payment. "Many" means one: perfectly clean US dollars with no folds or tears. The hotel looked newly renovated, but there was already extensive water damage. There are no stairs, only one elevator that is very slow and got stuck easily.

I WAS STRANDED IN GUYANA BECAUSE OF THIS HOTEL. NEVER EVER BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL. I MADE A RESERVATION WITH THIS HOTEL HOWEVER THEY DID NOT HONOR THE RESERVATION AND I WAS STUCK IN GUYANA WITH NO WHERE TO GO. I HAVE EVIDENCE TO SHOW ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SEE. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. AlSO, THERE WERE LOTS OF PEOPLE HANGING OUT AND PLAYING LOUD MUSIC IN FRONT OF HOTEL. THIS HOTEL WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT AND RUINED MY TRIP. DO NOT GO DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO OVERBOOK.

Newer hotel, but a lot to improve
The Marriott in Georgetown was booked out for good, so I picked a random hotel from the remaining options, the hotel was ok. The neighborhood is sketchy (from my own observation and a couple of people telling me so). There were no windows in the room, but the bathroom did have a few up top. I suspect this was done because the market next door can be very loud even at odd hours. No real soundproofing - you can hear doors banging constantly. AC unit is horrible - I just removed all the bedding and tried to sleep in the one spot it kind of hit. Bathroom you can barely move in but a decent sized shower. Hot water was fine. Wi-fi was stable enough, not stellar not bad either. Lamps were broken in the room. Found out on arrival that no credit cards accepted at that time and they prefer cash, but luckily accepted a Zelle payment. Breakfast was there - boiled eggs, coffee, bread. The staff is nice, the hotel seems like it is a bit newer. Fridge/microwave included in the room.
