We do our best controlling pests & appreciate guests keeping food in sealed containers, the fridge or in the garbage bins provided.

- The homestead is part of a larger working farm & as such please leave gates as you found them - CLOSE GATES as you enter & leave the farm. Please do not go near the cattle or sheep. If you are going down near the river please keep an eye on children, as the river when flowing, is very quick. You are welcome to fish down by the river, bring your rod!

- Fire - Please note that in fire danger season (October 1st - March 31st) that firepits are not allowed to be used.

Interaction with Guests:
As this is a working farm, from time to time the owners will be seen checking livestock in the surrounding paddocks.

A great farmhouse stay
Staying at Oakview was a pleasure, a genuinely secluded and peaceful farmhouse with good sized rooms, comfortable beds and a cozy open kitchen and lounge room. It was great to relax near the fireplace as well as watch the wildlife and the river flow. Would stay again.

A Timeless Haven of Comfort and Charm
Nestled by a beautiful river, the farm house was a picture of timeless elegance. Its classic design and immaculate cleanliness set the stage for a truly memorable stay. The charming chimneys not only added warmth but also served as focal points for cozy gatherings. In essence, it was the perfect combination of comfort, beauty, and hospitality, ensuring an unforgettable retreat in nature's embrace.

Disliked: Cleanliness
More bad than good
This property was very disappointing in that the kitchen cupboards were filthy and the bottom of the fridge was mouldy with old chicken food not cleaned from the last visitor. The house is woefully under-maintained with broken and missing flyscreens, windows that wouldn't open, tap handles which fell off their spindles, an outdoor table that had not seen a cleaning cloth in years, a shower over bath which flooded the floor and dozens of dead blowflies on dirty window sills throughout. The beds were comfy but one bed had a bottom sheet with a hole in it. A cheap pedestal fan in each airless bedroom would make hot summer nights bearable. We felt that this stay fell well short of the usual standard offered by Stays owners.
