Historic home on quiet ridge with fireplace & private deck - walk to beach

This beautiful home sits on a quiet ridge with peekaboo views of the Pacific Ocean. A designated historic landmark, your vacation rental retains much of its original character while providing all the modern-day comforts.

The private deck is ideal for sunbathing in summer or catching glimpses of migrating whales in the winter. Grill burgers, dine at the picnic table, and enjoy a gorgeous Oregon sunset. Furnished with two daybeds, the front porch is the perfect spot for a relaxing cup of coffee.

Inside, a welcoming living area features a wood-burning fireplace and a TV. Feel right at home in the warm and cozy kitchen, equipped with all the appliances you’ll need to whip up tasty home-cooked meals. Added perks include provided firewood, complimentary WiFi, and a washer/dryer.

WHAT’S NEARBY

To reach the beach, follow the walkway to the public access point, just beyond sand dunes and beach grass.
On the north side of Pacific Way, about 300 feet from home, the city of Gearhart offers a public recreation area that includes tennis courts and a basketball hoop. For a round of golf, the Gearhart Public Golf Course (half a mile away) features an 18-hole course.

THINGS TO KNOW

We truly want you to enjoy your time and make some wonderful memories with your group. That being said, this is not a party or gathering house for groups that can't control their noise levels. We have relationships with all of our neighbors who have our direct contact information. Quiet time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please stay indoors during this time, keep the windows and doors closed and keep the volume to an enjoyable but reasonable level. If it is loud enough to be heard outside in these conditions, it is too loud for you to remain our guest. This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring the interior of the house.

PET FRIENDLY: Maximum of 2 pets only **There is a $100 pet fee per pet fee. Although we are pet-friendly please note your pet must not be left unattended at the house without you present, even if in a crate/kennel. Failure to adhere to the house rules as it pertains to pets may result in cancellation of the booking with no refund. **

Sweet and Charming home!
So glad to have found a place that had enough beds for 6 adults! The home is somewhat rustic, but clean and quaint. The cleaning crew was still on site when we arrived but they were so friendly and were gone by the time we returned from dinner.

Great time!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful Gearhart home. The house provided plenty of space for individual quiet time as well as for group time in the living and dining areas. The kitchen was equipped with any pot or utensil a cook might need, and the beds were very comfortable. We all rated it five star and hope to come back for another stay in the future. (Having tennis/pickleball/basketball courts nearby was an additional benefit for the grandkids.)

Out of a Nancy Meyers movie
Gearhart is a beautiful and quiet town. Celebrating our mothers 70th birthday required something special, something completely her — Gin Ridge was the answer. Tastefully decorated but with so much character. The photos don’t do it justice. Comfortable beds, classic, beautiful, unstuffy decor, a well appointed kitchen and a beautiful deck with the nicest peekaboo view I could imagine. On a nice day, lunch at the mcmennamins was totally walking distance along the beach. A 1910 home can be expected to have don’t issues. There was one clogged toilet, but with three bathrooms - it didn’t actually cause a huge issue to just use the other two and not overload the downstairs toilet. I think we just flushed it too many times in a row since it was the downstairs toilet folks used while hanging out. I wonder if a “if it’s yellow, let it mellow” sign might be a good idea to avoid this in the future? So even with that - we’d 100% come back. Replies from management were prompt and direct. Perfect weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed Gin Ridge.

Cute beach cottage!
Our family had an amazing stay here. Our second year in a row at this house and it didn’t disappoint! Super cute cottage feel, but also so clean and great views! The house also has a lot of stocked items (especially in the kitchen). Will definitely stay here again next summer!

My family and I really enjoyed the home. We cooked most of our meals in and enjoyed the barbeque. We had plenty of space for everyone and the location was perfect! A short walk to the beach and a short walk to the cute village. We also were able to walk to the golf course & Sand Trap for an adventure with the kids. The decor of the cottage was adorable, it was functional but still stayed true to the historic home.

Perfect Location
Our family had a wonderful stay at Gin Ridge Cottage. The house suited our needs perfectly -- very clean, cozy and close to the beach. The view out to the ocean is lovely. The deck is perfect for lunch or reading a book. Well-appointed with all the basics we needed in the kitchen. An easy walk to the beach and a nice set-up to remove shoes and sand before heading back inside. We will be staying here again because we liked it so much. Thank you!

I recently had the enormous pleasure of staying there, and will go back again and again. There is plenty of room, a fully equipped kitchen; all the amenities you possibly need are provided. You'll have a wonderful ocean view of the mighty Pacific, and you're right on just the best street, in the best and quiet neighborhood, and you can walk to everything: the beach, the shops, the pickle ball and tennis courts, golf course, restaurants and bakeries...The owners have provided everything, and the management hosts are available by text or email within less than 5 minutes if you have a question or a concern. The keyless entry is so easy to use, the beds are very comfortable, all the appliances and wifi and tv and thermostat are very user friendly. Reserve now, and begin dreaming of cocktails on the deck and watching the sun set over the ocean and not having a care in the world.
