"This hotel is ideal for a break in north Norfolk and is very reasonably priced. We stayed in mid December 2025 for two nights. The hotel is in very good condition and very well kept. We dined at the hotel’s restaurant both nights and had fabulous meals with excellent service. "Comfortable rooms - if you go in Winter turn your heating down rather than off, it suddenly gets very cold Rooms are dated but cleaned well The service in the restaurant is good and the portion sizes are very generous "

"Pub is lovely, great atmosphere, outdoor winter seating was cosy and a real selling point. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. The room itself was clean and nicely decorated. It could have done with a more powerful shower. Slightly disappointed as didn't realise we would be staying away from the pub. We were waiting just over an hour to check in because our room wasn't ready. Booked in for breakfast for half 9, unfortunately by the time we had had our cooked breakfast we went to get pastries...

"It was awesome! The food was great! We stayed in Room 29 (the haunted room) but no spirits were playing except for hiding the TV remote control which we found under the bed on the old fireplace step!!"

"Excellent location and surprisingly quiet despite being next to busy A road and also the main train station. Clearly the soundproofing works. Staff were very attentive, polite, helpful and smart. In terms of the room it was comfortable. Bed was very large, facilities excellent. But no wardrobe - it was really just a clothes rack. That said, I'd stay here again and recommend others do."
