The property has two small bedrooms, but a decent size kitchen and living area, with a great front garden with fruit trees and outside seating - great for mellow evening dinners. There is little commercial activity in the village the house is located, Atalaia, just one cafe. However, larger towns are within an hours drive, and there are some fun places to visit - our favorites were the caves, dinosaur footprints, and Belver castle. There are signs to a hiking trail called PR2 within the village, and we followed them in one direction on foot, and another on a mountain bike provided by the owners. Get used to dogs barking, and church bells ringing - common sounds in rural Portugal. A great location if relaxation is your goal.
