Enjoy the mountain views and beauty of all four seasons from this charming chalet tucked cozily away high atop Ski Mountain!! Our guests will enjoy the privacy of being at the end of the lane that borders the Great Smoky Mountain National Park! This large, one bedroom mountain chalet, privately operated by the owners and exclusively designed for a couple, is located less than 1 mile from Ober Mountain Ski Resort and Amusement Park and approximately 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg . Being on the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park allows visitors the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful mountain views and abundant wildlife (including black bears!) while having a front row seat as the seasons unfold in the Smokies! Cherished memories are sure to be made in this romantic retreat for two. Escape from your everyday world for the perfect change of pace and enjoy the gorgeous views complete with the Ober Mountain Aerial Tram periodically passing by in the distance.

From the moment you arrive at this lovely chalet, a rustic, romantic atmosphere will surround you. Enjoy preparing meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The living area is a wonderful place to spend time as you snuggle up by the stone gas fireplace (operational October-March) on the leather sofa or comfy recliner and enjoy a DVD on the Blue-ray player from our collection, a movie via Netflix, or your favorite TV show on the 55 inch flat screen TV. The main level also features a game room with a full size pool table. Games, playing cards and puzzles are provided for your convenience. Relax and enjoy the views and the sights and sounds of the forest as you unwind from the upper deck's log rocking chairs or from the porch swing. You will have the feeling of being in a tree house as you enjoy this outdoor sanctuary from the upper porch!

The lower level provides a romantic setting for two: Watch your favorite movies from the comfortable king size log bed on the 50 inch flat screen TV above a second cozy gas fireplace (operational October-March). A private area with Jacuzzi tub is just off the bedroom, as well as a large master bath with an over sized shower. There is a lower deck off the bedroom area where you will enjoy spending time in the inviting hot tub while viewing the lights of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge by night and the aerial tram and beautiful mountain views by day.

You can plan a private cookout for two on the park-style charcoal grill located near the entry of the chalet and enjoy your meal on the porch surrounded by the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. If you choose to go out for dinner, you will find excellent dining choices just a few miles down the mountain in downtown Gatlinburg or at Ober Mountain Ski Resort. You may choose to drive a very short distance and park at Ober Mountain and ride the Aerial Tram down the mountain to dine or shop in the many unique shops downtown. As a member of Chalet Village Owner's Club please use our membership card provided for access to three club houses on the mountain, each with pools (seasonal), recreational areas and exercise equipment. This card also offers discounts at numerous attractions and restaurants in the Gatlinburg area. You are sure to find the ingredients for a perfect Smoky Mountain getaway at Bear Whisperer Chalet!

The chalet is a two person maximum occupancy dwelling ( both guests must be 25 years of age or older), is not suitable for children, is smoke-free and pets are not allowed which ensures an allergen-free environment for our all of our guests. Thank you for observing these policies. Our location is not suitable for motorcycles and/or trailers.

This property and the hosts are THE BEST we've ever dealt with. The chalet was spotless ( my wife knows clean...she's been managing cleaning crews on the beach condos ,houses and event venues for 20 years), and was exactly as advertised. We loved the cabin, especially the location. It is right at the park boundary and is the last cabin on the driveway. We saw a bear around the cabin pretty much every day. I suggest you grab a book and hang out at the corner of the porch for your best chance to see them strolling down the driveway. Cabin was clean, decorative and well equipped and Paula left some goodies for us to enjoy. Definitely want to come back there.

Great weekend Getaway!
We loved the cabin! Very private, clean, nicely decorated, and the owners checked on us via text. They even had extras they provided such as candy on the bed, a few snacks, and a bottle of wine! We opened the door in the morning and 2 cubs were playing/wrestling with each other! That was a thrill! We drove to Cherokee and 11 elk were there! (All females) We will be back!

This cabin was perfect for my husband and I. We stayed over spring break and really enjoyed the thoughtfulness that Paula put into all the items in the cabin. We took advantage of the hot tub on the deck each morning and enjoyed the porch swing with our coffee. Conversing with Paula was wonderful and she was very accommodating about answering all my questions. Every detail was thought about. We actually lost power the first night we were there, and it was so comforting when Paula reached out to tell us where the lanterns, batteries, snacks and everything we would need was located. Honestly, I do not know if we would stay in another cabin besides this one in this area! We cannot wait to come back!

We have stayed at this property three different years in a row for our anniversary. Keith and Paula are the ultimate hosts. The amenities, cleanliness, and communication provided by these hosts are unmatched. This chalet is amazingly clean, well appointed and everything you need is provided. It is located on a private drive along with two other chalets owned by these hosts and always seems very private. It is on the border of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, close to the entrance to Ober Gatlinburg, and a short drive down Ski Mountain Road to Gatlinburg. We don’t think you will be disappointed staying in either of the three chalets owned by Keith and Paula.

This experience was seamless. I had issues with my VRBO account and Paula (host) was gracious enough just to text me every I needed. The chalet was clean, comfortable and the hot tub was the icing on the top. Paula and husband provided everything you would need; was a nice touch with some candy and a bottle of wine. Whether you want to head into town (short distance) or just hang out playing pool inside or relaxing on the decks, I highly recommend staying at this place and I WILL do so again in the future.
