The property was very accurate to the listing online. Wasn't far from the strip. Hot tub and pool table were a hit with the teens. Overall loved the cabin and the location would stay there again with my family.
Cabin was in good shape, the appliances need some work. Big problem was lower ded room shower is in the juzzie, very unsafe one of our family took what could have been serious.
Having a great experience with my husband and kids. The amenities are well equipped as they mentioned only their is little mosquito issues. Otherwise...in a word superb..

the cabin was great the only thing whoever is cleaning it is not doing good job at all spider webs all over the inside cabin and dust.
This place is a close drive to everything you want to do while also being tucked away. You do have neighbors but there was space between cabins and I never heard or saw them. There are only 4 cabins there so it’s not too crowded. We saw a lot of wildlife around the cabin which I loved!
The only thing I would like to say is they could use some new couches and beds. The couches were cozy and soft but worn in and the beds weren’t super comfy. The squeezed with every move and the pillows were small.
I liked the complementary washing detergent but the dryer took 2 rounds to dry clothes fully so give yourself plenty of time when doing a load of laundry!
We’ve stayed in a few other cabins, and this was definitely our least favorite experience. It’s in The right area/where we like to stay, and it was clean, but otherwise just not great. The bedroom upstairs doesn’t have a ceiling; it’s completely open, so if you have anyone sleeping there (kids who go to bed earlier than everyone else? Another couple wanting any kind of quiet or privacy?) you pretty much can't use the rest of the upstairs which is the kitchen and living room (also the door to go out to hot tub) without disturbing. Also—there is no door for the downstairs bedroom, it just goes down the stairs and you’re in it. So one bedroom doesn’t have a ceiling and the other doesn’t have a door. The internet does not have enough bandwidth to even send and receive text messages, so streaming anything to watch was out of the question. The bedroom downstairs is FREEZING. there are heaters, which do help, but still cold. The kitchen needs double the dishes and silverware; for example, there were only three spoons and three bowls.
If you are planning on just sleeping here (and everyone going to bed at the same time or being okay with no privacy or with noise and light disturbances) but being gone doing other things and eating out the rest of the time, this would work just okay.
We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the Black Bear Lodge. It was conveniently located near downtown Gatlinburg and easy driving distance from Pigeon Forge and surrounding areas. Perfect location for a family vacation in the mountains!
I’ll start with the bad:
1. The beds are absolutely horrible. No exaggeration, but the worst mattress I’ve ever tried to sleep on. After the first day I slept on the couch. It was that bad.
2. Advertised as being 3 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. More like 20.
3. Wi-Fi was horrible but who cares right? My daughter did but it’s not that big of an issue.
Good things:
Very nice cabin, awesome bathtubs and a nice hot tub. Pool table in one of the rooms. Nice and quiet. Overall a nice experience. If they had better beds it would have been 4 stars
Pillows too small. Not enough storage for clothes in upstairs bedroom. Needs a dresser at least.
Lots of cobwebs. Minor stuff but could be perfect with a few changes.
The cabin was excellent. The location was close to everything.
This cabin was very sweet and charming. Close to Gatlinburg like advertised.

Cute
did not like the location. Back porch was too high for me & didn't show that online. I'm afraid of heights. No parking area. Did not like where my car sit at. Wasn't listed on the web about that. I will not pick that location ever again.
I probably want be back to Gatlinburg for quite some time.
Thank You!
Very beautiful cabin in the hills. We loved eating breakfast on the covered porch. Although there was a hottub we did not use it. We did use the pool table downstairs. Very nice for the money.

Cabin review
Our stay was great our only complaints were that the people never contacted me back when I reached out with questions. Also the cabin could have used some extra utensils in the kitchen. Overall a great place to stay.
