Getting Around:
Getting around Gatlinburg offers beautiful views but involves navigating mountainous roads. While the roads are scenic, they can be narrow and steep in some areas, especially in winter or rainy weather, so driving cautiously is important. Most attractions like downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are just a short drive away. If you're visiting in colder months, it's advisable to have a vehicle with four-wheel drive or snow chains. Despite the mountain roads, the drive is well worth it for the breathtaking surroundings and nearby adventures.
Other Things to Note:
🐻 Other Things to Note – Wildlife & Mountain Safety
Our cabin is nestled right by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, offering incredible natural beauty and the chance to see local wildlife. That said, we kindly ask guests to be mindful of their surroundings and respect the wildlife and terrain in the area.
🐾 Wildlife Awareness
Bears are active in the area – While sightings can be exciting, never approach or feed them. Secure all food and trash to avoid attracting them.
Keep trash inside until disposal – Please use the designated outdoor bear-proof trash bins and ensure they are fully latched.
Do not leave food or coolers outside – Even an empty cooler can attract wildlife. Always bring items indoors when not in use.
Lock car doors – Bears have been known to open unlocked vehicle doors in search of food.
Other wildlife – You may also see deer, raccoons, turkeys, and other native animals. Enjoy them from a safe distance.
🚗 Mountain Roads & Winter Travel
Our cabin is located in the mountains, so expect steep and winding roads leading up to the property.
In winter months, roads may become icy or snowy—4WD/AWD is strongly recommended, and we encourage guests to check weather conditions before arrival.
Drive with caution, especially at night, as mountain roads can be narrow and visibility may be limited.
Cell service can be spotty in certain areas, so downloading maps in advance can be helpful.
