Jardine Retreat Cottage

Located in the heart of the Jardine, Montana the Jardine Retreat Cottage was built in 2019. Escape from the crowds of Yellowstone and get away from the stresses of every day life. This two bedroom cottage has a kitchen, a cozy fireplace to relax by, and the sounds of Bear Creek just outside. Enjoy hiking and ski trails right out the front door. Jardine is a quiet, serene community surrounded on three sides by Wilderness, and is just 5 miles away from Yellowstone National Park.

The Jardine Retreat Cottage is a newly constructed getaway with rustic mountain charm. It has two bedrooms with queen beds, one full bathroom, a kitchen with cooking utensils, dining room, and a living room with comfy couches around a gas fireplace with a TV above in a secret cabinet. The house comfortably accommodates four people, and is perfect for two couples traveling together.

Tucked right up against the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness Jardine abounds with hiking, fishing, horseback riding (through local outfitters) in the Summer, cross-country and backcountry skiing and snowshoeing in the Winter, and endless year-round wildlife watching and outdoor exploring. There are no services in Jardine (ie: fuel, grocery stores, restaurants, etc) so remember to top up your fuel tank, go out to eat, and grab some groceries and those last couple of essentials at the Gardiner Market before heading up the road to Jardine.

Only Verizon phones work in Jardine. We do have WiFi! There is no TV/cable/satellite service, but for rainy days we do have a TV screen with online streaming capabilities and a DVD/Blu-ray player with a handful of movies available to watch, as well as games, books and puzzles to enjoy by our cozy fireplace.

Summer 2024 Update. Park County is short staffed and having a budget crisis. Because of this, they are not able to maintain the Jardine Road to the normal condition we have become accustomed to. There are extra potholes on the Jardine road. A 2WD can still make the drive, but expect it to be a little bumpier and take a little longer than usual. We're still only about a 15-20 minute drive away from Gardiner, and the views are amazing, as always. Please contact your host, Zondra, directly for the most up to date road report. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

As your host, I am happy to help answer questions and give you info about the following activities:
*Yellowstone Park tours
*Horseback riding
*EBike rentals
*Whitewater Rafting
*Hiking
*Hot Springs visit
*Fly fishing
*Massage therapy appointments

Amazing stay. Would be my first consideration on a return visit to Yellowstone. Those that have complained about the short drive down a rough road, stay at a Holiday Inn next time. You can't feel more like you're living in the mountains than when staying here. If you came to relax and get away from the world, this is your place.

Nice getaway
After staying at rooms without a bathroom in Yellowstone, we had a super relaxing stay in Jardine. The place was clean and inviting. The beds were a little squeaky but we had good nights rest. I was worried about the unpaved road but didn’t have a problem even after a heavy rainfall. I would highly recommend!

Neat, clean and comfortable....enjoyed our stay, location convenient to north entrance to Yellowstone....description of property was accurate but we falsely assumed the view would be better

Cute and Comfortable
The cabin was attractive, comfortable, and had all the necessities plus lots of extras. Don’t buy coffee, filters, spices, condiments, and lots of other supplies before you get there. So many items are already there. We really enjoyed spending the day in the park and hanging out playing Yellowstone Monopoly that was in the cabin in the evenings. We would definitely stay there again.

Cozy and comfortable
This cozy cabin worked very well for us with easy access to the Park but out of the way of the bustle of Gardiner in summer. The heated bathroom floor was great. With the long days in June we spent little time there, but it was a nice place to come back to. Definitely recommend it as a good accommodation if visiting the Park.

Nice place
Overall it was a great experience. Place was quite, had everything we needed and beds were comfortable. Only issue we noticed was the shower was either hot or cold no matter where the handle was positioned. Sometimes it would pop and then the pressure would change and then you could adjust the water temp like normal. We would stay here again.

Great, Cozy Stay near Yellowstone
This cabin was very nice and cozy. The fireplace was great on the snowy days we were there. The heated floors in the bathroom were awesome. We had no trouble finding the place up the mountain. It is about a 15 minute drive up the mountain from Gardiner, so be sure to plan for that when going into/leaving the park.

I understand there was no wifi, but limited selection for DVD's. Would recommend adding a washer/dryer to unit as this is a house. Otherwise, nice, clean, comfortable unit.

Good but not we were expected
We were a family of five and we are sorry we didn’t know there was no laundry machine at the place. We needed to drive to Gardiner for laundry and to wait there. There is no WiFi, so you need to take it in consideration. The host was nice and pleasant and the house is beautiful and well maintained. It’s about 25 minutes driving up the hill to get there from Yellowstone north entrance.

This was a lovely property, and our host was amazing! Very comfy surroundings, the place was outfitted with everything we needed, even a complimentary bottle of wine yumyum! Great home base for touring the Park during the day and coming back to chill out in the evening. We will definitely stay here again.

The cabin is very nice & a great place to unwind after being in Yellowstone all day. It had everything you need & then some. When we was all packed & leaving, we had a dead battery. Zondra came & jump started our car, very kind of her. Awesome place.

Beautiful cabin
Better than the pictures! Beautiful, well appointed cabin with books, artwork, and family movies. Thoughtful touches throughout like leaving pasta and a bottle of wine as well as coffee and tea for the morning. The location is a beautiful setting - we saw deer and were less than 10 min away from a horseback ride we took. It is a bit further out to the entrance of Yosemite - maybe 45 min. 'Thoughtful' is the best word I can think of to describe this cabin - we would definitely come back!
