"Good for family (2 adults, 4 kids). Good location, 30 minute walk or 10-15 minute bus ride to the city centre. Clean apartment, some initial struggle with the front door key ‘technique’ but the video was helpful, could’ve done with a few more kitchen utensils / oven trays for self catering. Overall good, would stay again. "

"Lovely spacious well-heated house in beautiful countryside. We had a week of snowy weather which was heavenly. Edward, the owner was extremely helpful. He towed out some cars which got stuck in the car park by the house, provided lots of logs, replaced the washing machine which had problems and was generally a great help. This is a house for people who like old books and furnishings...don't go there if you want modern posh."

"The Garden Cottage is such a fantastic spot. My family was traveling to Scotland for a wedding and needed a nearby accommodation with minimal stairs for the 92 yr old grandmother. The Garden Cottage seemed to be a good choice until we walked in the door and WOW, it exceeded all expectations. "Location excellent. And, photos accurately show current condition. The manager/owner and I have had a constructive dialogue which I hope will improve his property, specifically, buying new mattresses (as the current ones are soft and sinking), adding hangers to the wardrobe, adding hooks for damp towels to hang, and, fixing the leak from the bathroom that resulted in damp conditions in the larger of the two bedrooms. Manager/owner was responsive to my concerns and cooperative. "
