"After nearly a week of hiking in Madeira, I booked a stay at the Allegra as a treat to unwind and relax and it did not disappoint. The hotel is kept in impeccable condition, the staff are INCREDIBLY kind and helpful, breakfast was outstanding and the pool is beautiful. It is a little out of the way from the action in Funchal so I wouldn’t have wanted to stay the entire time here but if you’re looking for a place to get away and relax, this is for you. "

"The food at the buffet was excellent. Lots of choices. Fresh fruit and salads and a great selection of fish and meats and vegetarian options. Staff are very friendly. It is just west of Funchal so a little quieter but walked into Old Town and had a rental car to explore the island. Lots of great hiking in Madeira. I will come back!!!!"
