Friends Reunion Weekend
Wonderful property and excellent communication from the hosts, Asad and Erica. We loved the baby deers, groundhogs, birds, beautiful views and shooting stars. Additional helpful things to know ahead of the visit is that there is a bbq but there is no guarantee there will be propane as it is not supplied by the host. Also, there was minimal toilet paper so if we were to stay again, we would bring a 6 pack of TP. For towels we only were provided six for the entire visit, which was challenging since we used the hot tub. Asad shared that typically extra towels are left on the kitchen counter but was an oversight by the cleaning crew. As you can see these issues did not lessen our rating and we enjoyed our weekend greatly!

Peaceful, beautiful Getaway in the Bear Mountain Lodge ❤️
Thank you Asad and Erika, my fiance and I had an amazing few days on top of the beautiful mountains. The house was beautiful, very clean, fully stocked, and I enjoyed the adorable Bear theme through out the home, so many details! So inviting, warm and even had a beautiful piano. There was various games and activities in the home, not to mention about 15 minutes from downtown! Great location! We enjoyed the amazing views, and the peace! We even hired an amazing local photographer Joe Stein photography, who came to the home and took our engagement photos with the beautiful mountains in the background. Highly recommend Joe, if you are looking for a wonderful, passionate photographer. We enjoyed quite of few meals at the Apple House! Bear Mountain lodge is definitely a piece of paradise, we highly recommend this beautiful home! Thank you again Asad from start to finish he was so quick to answer all of my questions, he called me right after booking introduced himself, gave me quite a few recommendations, lots of ideas of things to see and do, restaurants to visit. So wonderful, and easy to talk to, and told us if we needed anything to let him know. 10 Star Experience. We will definitely like to visit again!

Nice home with lovely views
This is a nice home with lovely views through the large floor to ceiling windows. It's only 10 minutes away from town with stores and restaurants. There is a cute bear theme throughout the decorations. We enjoyed sitting out by the firepit (you have to provide your own wood). The owner is exceptionally communicative and helpful. For downsides - It's not completely private; there are other homes nearby but not many. The master bath shower is very small.

Excellent property
This home was everything and more. We enjoyed our stay here. Easy proximity to SNP, fine dining and wineries. Recommend Rappenoch Winery and Houndstooth Resturant. We did not find the appeal of The Applehouse. You need your own firewood if you want a fire. The found the property to be quite private with beautiful scenery just as the pictures on the web site show.

Relaxing mountain retreat
The property is as advertised, excellent view, very private, with abundant wildlife. Saw a black bear on our next to last day, several rabbits live on the periphery, as well as numerous song birds. The hot tub is very relaxing and the property is only about three miles from town!

The perfect retreat or vacation home
The setting of the home was spectacular, nestled in hills on a partially wooded lot. It's close to Front Royal (10 minute drive) and also close to I-66. Inside the home all the necessities and more were there, including a fully stocked kitchen of utensils, pots and pans, dishes, spices and refrigerated condiments. The furnishings matched the theme of of bear mountain lodge and the beds were most comfortable. My only caveat is the accessibility of entry. It is necessary to walk up the outside set of steps (over 12 steep open back steps) to enter the home. If you have any height or knee issues, this is difficult especially carrying suitcases in. If the steps aren't a problem, this is a perfect vacation getaway.
