Elected as the most beautiful village in Andalusiafor three years, Frigilianas patterned cobbled streets are maintained as traffic free (although convenience access is permitted) contributing enormously to the tranquillity and historic atmosphere of this traditional Moorish village.
The property has been family owned for fifty years and is beautifully furnished with Moorish style furniture. There is a shaded dining terrace https://youtube.com/shorts/aHYCQJ6Pr0w?feature=share and a further sun terrace above (see pictures below) affording magnificent views to the mountains and Mediterranean sea. The wonderful village pool (normally open in school holidays) is but a few minutes walk. Early in 2009 extensive restoration has taken place at the property including a new kitchen, bathroom, shower room and utility room.
It is possible to drive to the front door to drop off luggage and shopping etc.
The front door enters into a spacious dining room with original fireplace and beamed ceiling. The dining room leads in to the kitchen. The walk through kitchen goes through to the sitting room with TV. The sitting room door takes you on to the beautiful spacious dining terrace (comfortable seating for six). A large sweeping staircase descends to one of the double bedrooms with ensuite shower WC. The top floor has a king size bed, two twin bedrooms, the bathroom and a large sun terrace.
Adrian Lori. "Your homely, cosy house is perfectly situated slap bang in the middle of the village within a few steps of all major points of interest with shops over the road that are friendly and reasonably priced".
The bustling town of Nerja, with its marina, beaches, superb cliff top restaurants and extensive shopping facilities is a ten minute drive away, as are the recently discovered caves of Nerja.
Other attractions other than the village itself are the magnificent mountain walks, including a track behind the village leading to a water fall, riding, outdoor village swimming pool, weekly village market, scuba diving and the splendid palace of Alhambra being a one and a half hour drive away.
Low season temperatures provide a perfect climate for walking, site seeing and indulging in the copious lavish local fiestas.
Williams. "Thank you from this family of Ausies for a stay in a house so deliciously imbued with culture & history. Artistically furnished & decorated it plunged us back into a Moorish past previously unknown to us. Ronda, The Alhambra in Granada was easily reached in a day & the local caves and beeches were visited when we had had our fill of culture".
Guest Book: Tony Johanna. "Johanna & I have travelled the world for over 25 years staying in homes/apartments with many beautiful memories. We certainly put Calle Real with the best. The warmth of the house, its truly Moorish style, great location, all make it memorable, but the versatility of the holiday made it most worthwhile. Whether lazing around, feeding and drinking from the local eateries/shops, mixing with expats (from everywhere) late in the night, spending a day along the beach, hiking the gorge, walking along the waterways that feed the ancient dryness of such fascinating rural landscapes, visiting interesting places that rarely appear in the travel brochures as well as Granada, Ronda, Seville, Malaga, Antequerre, Cadiz, the list goes on. For variety we found Frigiliana hard to beat. It has been a fantastic spot for two weeks, the perfect revival kit for two burnt out execs from Australia. Thank you again for your courtesy and hospitality. We'll visit again".
Guest Book: Sarah Worden "I just wanted to let you know that my friends and I had a lovely time staying at your house which is just the type of place I love! After seven years of visits, at least twice a year, I love the village and it is great to relax in a characterful house".
