I traveled a long way from US to Swiss (Villa 12 is on the border between Swiss and France), and had to work on the arriving day, so I got at the Villa 12 Guesthouse around 8:30pm, that is very normal time for a hotel/Guesthouse check-in time. But to my surprise, the main Gate of the Villa 12 is tightly closed, and the guesthouse building looks dark, did not seem there were people living in it. "We stayed for 3 nights in December, the breakfast was good and never busy, staff checking us in wet friendly and polite and spoke multiple languages. The areas itself is ok, it's near a tram stop into the centre of Basel and within close enough proximity to local amenities such as the Co-op to stock up on some essentials for cooking. "This was a nice hotel. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The restaurant, Hangar 9 was very good. You get a 10 CFR discount in your key card packet. The burgers were delicious and the fries were great. The casino is very nice and an added bonus gor your stay. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. "
