"Becca and her staff were so helpful and wonderful for our entire trip. It is not in the middle of the tourist trap areas, but they are close if you want to go visit. So, if you are seeking the busy hustle bustle- you can get to west end in 5-10 minutes and a $10 taxi drive. It is right off the reef and we used a kayak to go visit the reef and it was very nice. The restaurant on site had awesome food, and the staff personalities were 10/10. Becca offered names of drivers she worked with and we utilized Libby and he was also great! I always felt safe, and I always felt welcomed by the locals. Becca also sent out a daily message with things going on the island that day, and she was always available for questions during the day. The dive shop was also great, and our rentals were in good condition for snorkeling. My only negative comment is that our condo was slightly musty. We are both very mold sensitive- but this is the likely price you pay next to the water. I took a daily allergy med and Benadryl at night and was just fine. "

"We booked last minute as we missed our cruise. We stayed 2 nights. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They helped arrange transport from airport and also to cruise port. Food was good and the beach is beautiful. I actually wish we would have stayed here and not even went on to the cruise. Excellent resort!!"

"The property was beautiful, exactly as advertised. The owners along with the staff were very attentive and so friendly. It was so convenient to walk to the end of the dock and get in the water to snorkel. You could also take the paddle board or kayak out and enjoy the reef. I would recommend anyone looking for a quiet piece of paradise to stay at Puerta Azul."

"Definitely a step above for the area. You can tell they focus on service and above average food and amenities. I liked the location a lot and having the beach/bay right there as well as dive shop next door was very convenient. One thing that was frustrating was there were no hooks to be found in the room! Not even the bathroom. This makes finding places to hang towels and other items (especially w family of 4) frustrating. Also minimal to no storage and only one luggage rack. Had to live “out of suitcase” all week. For such an upscale property this is a notable and poorly managed portion of a guest’s stay. Regardless I would stay there again for all of the other reasons. Kudos to the entire team for their devotion and hospitality! "

"This property is amazing wonderful. The staff is over the top friendly and accommodating, all with a smile. There had been a recent storm so there was some damage, no fault of staff or owners. We walked easily from the hotel to the beach and enjoyed the friendly beach vibe. HIGHLY recommend this property, it is not like a mega resort, much smaller and many times superior. The employees ( retesting intentionally) are wonderful, enhancing our stay. Everytime we asked for help they handled immediately, I never felt that I was creating an inconvenience. I also recommend communicating in advance by email with Jane. She KNOWS everything and is very helpful with more than just property details. "
