Reality didn't match the advertising
This privately-owned apartment (not a hotel) is in a great location, just near Munsterplatz. It was very clean upon arrival and the bed was very comfortable. Despite Hotels.com advertising it as having 'daily housekeeping' there is no servicing during your stay. No toiletries are provided so you'll need to buy your own soap, shampoo etc. One roll of toiletpaper is provided. It is on the 3rd floor so approx. 50 stairs up (there's no lift; it's a very old building). We had an issue with hot water but Tom the property manager quickly sent a handyman which was appreciated. The kitchenette has a mini-fridge and stovetop, but no microwave or oven. The bathroom is tiny and the shower curtain impractical, but you don't have to spend much time there! A travel hairdryer is provided. You need to arrange beforehand to get access. There's a cleaning fee and a very high breakage deposit. I don't consider this property good value given you can book a hotel for similar pricing but better servicing. I find the 'deluxe apartment' description a stretch; it's not finished particularly well or expensively and I'm confused how a property of this type can have a 3.5 star rating - must be a very different star rating system. If the pricing was adjusted and more information provided it would help. For accom of this type, there are other sites which are more informative. I use Hotels.com a lot, but my experience with them in this instance was disappointing. I would not stay at this property again.
