"Few properties anticipate vacationers' needs as thoroughly as this one. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beach area was like a mini resort, the property manager was available to us and handled any issues quickly, its proximity to Tarpum Bay helped us meet wonderful people and get fresh fish, lobster, and conch salad, and the small market in town met our needs. Children are clearly welcomed here with a clean, charming play area. They even had enough laundry hampers and towels for a large, busy family. Just remember to bring water shoes and your insect repellent of choice--you will likely need these wherever you go in Eleuthera anyway. Such wonderful memories were made! "

"We stayed at this wonderful property over the Christmas holiday, and enjoyed every minute! From the beachfront location to the pool and spa, this property provided everything we could want to make our Holiday enjoyable. We had the beach to ourselves as turtles and stingrays swam in the water around our feet, and the warm trade winds flowed through buildings with large, sliding doors. Multiple refrigerators were available for beverage storage, and the large deck was a perfect playground for our 2-yr-old grandson. The property was clean and the manager was extremely helpful with any questions we had. We've been to a lot of ocean-side properties, but this one was one of the best we've seen! Highly recommended!!"

"Eleuthera means freedom, and free we felt. Atop a little hill sits the Bahamian farm house, tucked away by native bush and trees. The house fills with warm light and cool breeze. It is true and pure island living in the best say. "

"I first want to say I never wanted to leave, Eleuthera is an amazing island and something very special. If you want a secluded house with a private beach to enjoy the views of the ocean, this is the place. The blue water views when you walk in are amazing and the property offers so much! The house is beautiful plenty of room for a family, the kitchen is well equipped with everything you need, best past is an amazing ice maker we used excessively! There are three different types of coffee makers, plenty of pots and pans, spices! The beds are very comfy, and the AC keeps each room cool! It’s great to have the pool right out back, there were even rafts and blow ups for the kids! There are steps down to the private beach we didn’t see anyone the whole trip! It’s very shallow and clear, great for some easy snow, the best part was the numerous sea turtles everywhere!! We saw other sea life, sting rays, crabs, fish, even tiny sharks! Nish was a wonderful perk of the house, she was so attentive and kind, she cleans twice a week and even brought us fresh mangos from her yard!! She helped us with all of our questions and gave us great recommendations on things to do, she is fabulous!! Everyone on the island is so friendly and welcoming, we will be back!! "

"The property is set off the main highway making it easy to find but there is very little traffic so highway noise is not a problem. The beach is a great walking and swimming beach. The water is relatively shallow allowing one to walk out 50 yards or so and being only waist deep. It would be perfect for those who like to just swim or sit in the cool water. It would also make a great place for beginning snorkelers. There is a "chickee" at the waters edge to sit or lie in the rope hammock and look out at the peaceful ocean. Additional furniture would there would be nice. The house is very comfortable and well laid out with an open design of the kitchen and living area. The double screened doors allow the ocean breeze through the house. The house has a sitting porch in the front and back so you can always stay out of the sun! There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off after being in the ocean. Eleuthera is a very rural island so dont expect there to be lots to see or do except visit different beaches. There are no casinos, resorts, etc.in this area. However, if you are looking for secluded beaches and friendly people then you will like this place. There is a relatively decent market (island wise) about 2 kilometers away in Tarpum Bay and a bigger one in Rock Sound (a 20 minute drive). We have rented close to 50 VRBO homes all over the world (we love traveling!) and the host, Barbara Carey, was the best and the quickest to respond to any questions we had by far"

"We had a wonderful time at Rock Hill House. The house and beach are both stunning and in a peaceful part of south Eleuthera. Really appreciated that every bedroom had its own bathroom - it made for excellent privacy for all the guests. The beach is lovely fine sand and there is pretty decent offshore snorkeling - we saw the largest parrot fish that we have EVER seen and we are long time snorkelers. Bring your gear! The tug and barge wrecks just offshore are really cool and remind you of the power of the ocean. The house is showing her age a little - some of the sliding doors don't work and the faucet at the bar. But none of this detracts from this lovely home - it has an elegance that many homes on Eleuthera do not. We did the hike to Lighthouse beach (do it before Disney opens!). Make sure that you drive to Governors Harbor and go to Island Farms - best grocery shopping on the island (fabulous lasagna to go) and great wine prices. Their homemade salad dressings are fantastic. Pam was provided excellent help and Sheila did a lovely job keeping the home clean and tidy. All in all a wonderful stay at our fave island."
