Just two blocks from Main Street, many locals and visitors have coveted this impressive two-story home over the years. Built in the late 1800s, Sussie Staudt lived in the house until 1990. A few years later the home was sold and renovated as a guesthouse. A large front porch with rockers has been restored with gingerbread to bring back the original look. The colors inside have kept with German tradition by declaring each room's personality painting with a different color and tying them together with red and deep blue. Pine floors and fabulous antiques are displayed both upstairs and down.
The living room has a warm, rich red gingham sofa comfortably arranged for TV viewing. These same colors are carried into the master bedroom. A grey tufted King bed is topped with white and red bedding and an assortment of fluffy pillows. The upstairs is a spacious pristine white bedroom full of color and warmth. A queen bed is decked with red, white and blue quilts and spiced with red gingham ruffles and curtains. To tie in with this traditional Fredericksburg look, there's an oversized chair adorned in red gingham to relax or read in.
In the back of the house is a kitchen equipped for light cooking. White tile backdrops and countertops and an array of decorative tiles enrich the pine cabinets.
The home has been lovingly renovated and decorated. Each room is furnished with wonderful antiques and has original pine floors and area rugs. The rooms are bright and cheerful and much thought has been given to guests' needs.
The outdoor space is equally enticing with a pleasant backyard, charcoal grill (charcoal not provided), and firepit (wood not provided). There is also a Level 2 EV charger conveniently located right next to the driveway.
Trek Enchanted Rock, hike, bike, shop till you drop, stroll through the garden or sit on the front porch, rock and just be. Enjoy!
