Spending our 27th anniversary up on the rooftop gazing at the cosmos was the perfect time and place, and made so much more complete by the caring, thoughtful preparation our hosts made for us. I like to cook, so usually pick places with a full kitchen or at least a kitchenette with a hot plate, so I always bring essentials like my spices, oils, knives, foil, plastic wrap, etc. I left all of those things in my bag untouched because Rhonda and Carl thought of nearly everything! They even made sure to have charcoal, lighter fluid, and a stick lighter so I could grill our kebabs!
You've read other postings that saw how thoughtful and caring both Rhonda and Carl are, and all I can say is it's 100% true! From the offer of drinks when we arrived, to the asking if everything is okay as Carl headed back to his home after feeding and prepping the cows and chickens, they are great hosts.
The Siesta cabin's location was a great spot for gazing at the plethora of stars we could see since it was so dark at night. It was also perfectly located as a launching location for our treks into Fredericksburg, the Texas wine country, and the back porch of the Siesta was a great location to be about 10 yards away from 8-12 deer eating the deer corn we left for them. They spooked as we moved to drink our drinks, but Carl had told us that as long as we moved slowly, they wouldn't run away.
It was beautiful, we can't recommend it enough, and we will be going back!
