Wake up in the heart of wine country when you stay at this one-bedroom Fredericksburg suite, a beautiful Texas Hill Country retreat that offers dog-friendly accommodations, a private wood-burning fireplace, and a wonderful location on the Highway 290 Wine Trail.

Beautifully situated just six miles outside of historic downtown Fredericksburg, this traditional stone suite is part of the Historic Rocky Cottage, a charming five-suite property that is ideal for wine enthusiasts. These elegant private suites can either be rented together, for as many as 12 people, or individually by couples and solo travelers. This listing includes the Champagne Suite, located in a gorgeous historic log building facing the shared courtyard.

Whether you're planning a romantic weekend or a group getaway with friends, you'll find Six Shooter Cellars (closed Tuesday and Wednesday) right next door, Alexander Vineyards and Rancho Ponte Vineyards less than one mile away, and Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site only 13 miles away.

The interior living space is full of rustic atmosphere, but offers plenty of luxurious modern convenience. Take a seat and admire the vaulted ceilings and exposed wood beams, bring a book along to read in the comfortable rocking chair, or enjoy the warmth of the stone fireplace on the soft leather sofa.

Spend a day exploring the serene landscapes of Enchanted Rock State Natural Area just 23 miles north, and return home to browse the WiFi or relax with your loved one in front of the flatscreen TV.

Enjoy freshly brewed coffee in your suite each morning, but please be advised that there is no kitchen. Yet you'll hardly notice its absence as you enjoy meals at Vaudeville, the Cabernet Grill, Otto's, and other wonderful restaurants in and around Fredericksburg.

Just beyond your front door, you'll have use of a lovely shaded courtyard with mature trees and a spa-like waterfall fountain. And on most Saturday afternoons, you'll enjoy live music performances and wine tasting courtesy of Fiesta Winery!

At night, the Champagne Suite can accommodate as many as two guests in its one-bedroom, one-bathroom space. The bedroom features rustic wood paneled walls and a king-size bed with a floral coverlet. The spacious full bathroom has a large vanity and a stall shower. Feel free to bring your dog for a small, nightly pet fee (please note a 30 lb weight limit).

With tasting rooms directly on-site, it can be easy to forget about the many Texas Hill Country beauties that await just beyond the property. There are dozens of wineries and tasting rooms in Gillespie County alone, including the renowned Grape Creek Vineyards and 4.0 Cellars just four miles away.

History lovers will also delight in a visit to downtown Fredericksburg, where you'll find more than 80 sites of interest in the historic district alone, as well as a fantastic seasonal farmers market in Marktplatz Kinderhalle.

Leave your worries and cares behind you - let this Fredericksburg retreat give you the restful vacation you've been waiting for!

Nice place close to Fredericksburg
Comfortable, clean room. It was close to Fredericksburg & the Preserve. My only complaint was that there was only 1 coffee cup & the hot water ran out pretty fast.

I will stay again.
It’s a perfect location for the wineries we frequent, and close to town. The room was nice, but has room for improvement. Bed was comfortable and room amenities were good. I would recommend for pet parents as this is one of the few places that allow pets and the entire facility is nice for pets. This is Wyndham in a world of Hyatts and Marriotts but a very nice, comfortable place if you don’t need the glam, and it’s much better than the cheap tiny home cabins popping up along 290!

Good location, dirty unit
Location is great with lots to do within walking distance. The unit is okay. Has everything you need but could be cleaner. Many dead bugs as well as rat droppings found in the unit and on the bed. Overall it was okay.

Historic Rocky Hill - Malbec suite
This property was very quiet and peaceful even though it is right next door to a winery. The evenings after 5:00 were great! There were a few amenities that they could improve upon. The worst thing is the door code. It is a 10 digit number so you can't memorize easily.

Not impressed with Vacasa
Directions carried us to the winery downtown. Shower door was broken. Wasted two hours trying to get the correct address couldn’t reach anyone from Vacasa, thankfully I got in touch with someone from Vrbo and she was fantastic.

Nice place
The place was conveniently located by downtown. Felt safe. Could have been cleaner. Toilet was to clean, shower door falling off and A/c filters dirty. NO paper towels or napkins, a tiny bit of hand soap and 1.5 rolls of TP. Was brought paper towels after I contacted them but was told the TP was our responsibility!

No fun weekend
Very disappointed. A small cheap hotel room would be how I describe it. (Except it definitely wasn’t cheap for what I got for my money). We left without spending the second night. One night in that room was definitely enough. I will not go back or recommend it, in fact I’ll make sure I tell my friends.

Definitely not worth $400 a night
For $400 per evening oh, I would expect room service at a full kitchen inside of the room. Neither was provided. I could not get the apps on the TV to work and they do not have cable. The AC semi works, but was still hot in the room. I just think $400 a night is ridiculous for a one- night, and just one room not even a suite. It's also about six miles outside of Fredericksburg so you have to drive a little ways to get to it. Was not impressed and would not stay there again.

Great place to stay
This was our first time in Fredericksburg. Convenient location, easy drive to Main Street but still off the path some. Close to all the wineries and had everything we needed. Cozy and perfect for a couples weekend!

Okay spot but walls are thin
Okay spot for a couple days. The walls are so thin you hear everything neighboring rooms are saying. The power went out one day and property managers were quick to get back to us letting us know it was the town having the outage and called us when it came back on too. Bed was fine. Contact on floor so cleaning could have been a little better, but it was mostly clean. We stayed during the week and parking was super easy! Very short drive into main town.

A nice place but pricey for what we got
The buildings were quaint - a small 5 unit log house hotel in 2 buildings. Thin walls. Really. Also, you have to really stretch your definition of "breakfast". We ate all of them out. Better to call it a "Bed and morning Snacks". I get it. The model doesn't allow a real breakfast - but don't imply it does. The grounds were pretty and well kept. Interactions were efficient. I especially liked the electronic keypad lock. Really convenient. I'm going to outfit my exterior doors at home the same. May come back when the rates are more consistent with the value of the property. I knew it and I paid it anyway. It was our anniversary that happens to coincide with Valentine Week. Probably won't do it again, though. I guess the price thing left a bad taste.

Not a B&B. Yes there were cellophane-wrapped store-bought muffins, some yougart, 2 tiny mills some granola bars, and a coffee pot. But that’s NOT A BREAKFAST! It a servee-bar. Bad bed. Good mattress, kind of. A mattress topper on springs that is newer, but put on top of a terrible wire frame bed. Terrible nights sleep. Paper thin walls. None of the other guests in other rooms had ever before been in a motel with walls so thin — we all realized we needed to whisper. The shower soap, and shampoo dispenser were broken and empty. The owners do not care about the guests or the property. This was the most disappointing motel I have been in for 25 years. I was in a worse one in New Mexico 25 years ago. We slept in our sleeping bags on top of the beds it was so dirty. But that one looked like a flop house and did not pretend to be a B&B or anything else. This terrible property is not beyond hope. It needs two things. 1) Get good beds. 2) Stop calling it a B&B. When you called it a B&B, people expect the B, not a basket of junk food.

Reduce rates to a cheap hotel
Sleeping was miserable. Mattress and pillows were horrible. Felt like I was staying at a cheap hotel off the interstate. Dropped my phone next to the bed. Found an old can of cat food under the night stand. Dog in other apartment drove me crazy barking. Next day was blessed with a crying baby. Worst experience I’ve had in a long time.

Rocky hill stay
The room was set up nicely, my only complaints about the stay. 1) the walls are super thin, I could hear the anointing rooms tv all night, thinking they might be already asleep. Until they come in 12:30 AM couldn’t tell if they where super loud and drunk or the wall was so thin you could hear every word and sound from the room. 2) The BNB was just a small fridge with a can of OJ and a 1/4 pint of milk, with two Danish pastries. So definitely not the breakfast I had in mind. Other than that... it was a great stay. Ohh the address listed didn’t show up on either gps and navigation.

This was horrible
We loved NOTHING!! Broken down, cracks in the wall, old rickety furniture, winery customers coming over and trashing the place, (Bed &)breakfast was a complete joke with a dime store danish and mini OJ in the fridge, had to unplug the coffee maker just to plug in the microwave, lamps and ceiling fan not working or threatening to fall off the broken table, dirty silverware, 1 roll of TP for 4 days, need I go on? The outside pic's are deceiving. You share this building with 2 other customers, 3 rooms total. This was the worst, especially considering how much they have the nerve to charge!! Run away fast!!
