Summary:
Built in the 1860's by one of Fredericksburg’s original stonemasons, Lincoln Street Inn has well-since established it's reputation as one of Fredericksburg’s most beloved & premiere inns. The property is a Texas Historical Landmark and a Condé Nast Traveller-Recommended Inn. This charming 2-story historical estate has been preserved & maintained meticulously, yet loaded with modern conveniences & impressive upgrades. The main home offers 4 generous, en-suite bedrooms with impeccably designed spaces, dining room, chef’s kitchen & utility room. No historic home is complete without an upper & lower level balcony from which to enjoy the buzz of the surrounding ambience of this treasured city - just about an hour & a half from Austin. The Sunday House (a.k.a. guest house), with its towering ceilings and open floor concept, provides an additional space for groups to join the fun and enjoy privacy. The inn is located steps away from Fredericksburg's Main Street, where you can find more than 150 shops, boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, wine tasting rooms, two museums & more.
The Space:
The property is comprised of two beautiful stone buildings with a spacious gathering space in the garden in between them. Upon arrival, guests will park in the driveway to the left of the main house. It is easiest for guest to enter through the kitchen door. Starting at the front of the house, guests are welcomed to a cozy living space with chairs, couches, and a 65" swivel TV. Historic meets modern in this quaint and cozy space. There is a large bathroom connected to the front room, with a walk-in shower, large bathtub, and picturesque vanity space. Back out in the main hallway, guests will also see the first bedroom to the left upon entering. This room contains a king bed, desk space, and wardrobe. Continuing down the hallway, guests can either turn to go up the stairs, or head into the large dining room, with seating for 8. This room is perfect for hosting small events with your guests, whether its family reunions, birthdays, or other important milestones. The kitchen lies adjacent to the dining space, allowing home cooked meals to be readily served. The massive and luxurious kitchen comes equipped with a double oven, wine fridge, tons of counter space, and updated fridge and dishwasher. Cooking here is a breeze! Guests can open the French doors and access to garden space or the Sunday House from the kitchen. Or, to the right, guests will find a cozy breakfast nook, half bathroom, and laundry facilities.
Upstairs in the main house, guests will find 3 spacious and bright bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. Each room contains a king bed, so guests are comfortable no matter which room they choose. There is a door at the end of the main hallway leading to the upstairs balcony. Anyone can enjoy the beautiful Texas weather while sipping cold drinks in the chairs.
The green space in between the homes contains plenty of outdoor seating for those warm Texas nights, with a hottub and outdoor fireplace as well for the cold ones! A grill is also available for guests who want to cook up some hearty Texas meals.
Once inside the Sunday house, guests will be welcomed to a huge living space, king bed, and full kitchen all in one. The bathroom is stunning: two sinks, a walk in shower with a double shower head, and a standalone bathtub. True hill country elegance is tangible, no need to go to the spa! This house allows guests who want a little more privacy to have completely separate living quarters if desired. It's truly great for everyone!
