"The room was excellent with a surprising amount of space, clean and all the usual amenities you'd need. It was nice and quiet as it could be considering the adjacent road. Both dinner options in the pub and breakfast in the restaurant on the other side were delicious with plenty of choice. At every stage the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. "I stayed two nights in Castleton in mid-November amid some early snow which made the village and the walks around the hills stunning. But the real treat came after a long day of hiking when I was able to return to a cozy pub to have a hot meal, a pint of ale and a nice read by a roaring fire. "We stayed during a major snowstorm that shut down the roads and left the Inn under-staffed: but the food was still excellent, the service was wonderful, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had an excellent stay, The chef is brilliant and the owners are both very friendly and very helpful. An excellent experience despite the adverse weather conditions."
