We loved this cabin! It had so much to do for the kids. We had kids ranging from ages 1-15 and they all loved it and had plenty to do. It was clean and homey and had a good vibe.

Great for families on summer vacation.
Great view from the front porch. Lots of space in the house for all 8 of us to move around. We enjoyed the spa, games, large kitchen table and having a washer and dryer. The place does need more bath towels. Ac upstairs was a little warm at times. Locks on the windows do not work, most of them were broken off.

College Tour
Unfortunately, the electronic lock was broken upon arrival but we were able to access the house with a physical key from a contractor box on the porch. The cabin had an amazing view, was clean and well stocked with everything you need except toilet paper. All three bathrooms only had half a roll. Of the four bedrooms, two were unusable (master and bunk room) as there was an electrical issue leaving them with no power or heat. There were no tripped breakers and no gfci’s leaving us baffled why the two bedrooms were without power. The temps were in the 30’s at night and 50-low 60’s during the day so heat was definitely needed. I called and texted the management company, and they said they would reach out to the local office to get someone out to fix it. We were there four days and three nights and no one came. I called and texted multiple times and only received a reply of “sorry for the inconvenience”. Even though the cabin was beautiful, we would not rent again unless the owners switched property managers.

Spectacular Views
The Trip from the gate to the driveway is not for the faint of heart very narrow roads cut into the side of the mountain just barely wide enough for one vehicle. The description of the cabin was spot on beautiful views and a clean interior. Easy Check in and Check out. Was a Great place to kick back and relax for a few days away from everyone

Mountain getaway
We were up there for my birthday weekend and this place is centrally located close to a lot of small downtown shopping. The house itself offered several things to do but the only downside is at the place needed a lot of TLC and cleaning. The hot tub was great and they were lots of games to play with the exception of them were missing game pieces like the pool table was missing the 15 ball. The views from the deck are amazing the garage, where the pool table and other games are had a lot of leaves and sand and was very dirty, even spiderwebs with spider eggs hanging on the lamps , I don’t wanna be misleading because we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here/birthday weekend. This place just needs a better cleaning service as well as someone who would be attentive to the maintenance of the home, missing lightbulbs and fixtures, and other things that homes need to be maintained.

Absolutely Amazing!
If you’re looking for an amazing view and a spacious house for your family! This is definitely the place , we absolutely enjoyed our stay , the house was very clean, lots of space and plenty of rooms , sitting in the hot tub while looking at that view was my favorite part of the house! Tons of games for adults and the kids , plenty of kitchen equipment so just bring some food! The only thing is that I HIGHLY recommend to have a 4x4 , truck or suv , the road and drive way is not for the faint of heart , my little Kia soul almost didn’t make it up the drive way and I think I had a Mini heart attack lol but other then that it was very cozy and I would recommend it to anyone !

Great Family Vacation
We had a great visit with our family to Lazy Bear Lookout. The views from the front porch were stunning and is where we spent most of our time. The cabin was large and had plenty of space for our family of six. Our two young boys especially liked the game room and hot tub; and we even had a bear visit while we watched from inside the garage! There were a few things about the cabin we would change; it needs a little TLC with some minor repairs needed. We were also disappointed to not find a regular coffee pot available; there is a Keurig but we are a big coffee family and did not have K-cups. The kitchen was otherwise well stocked and we prepared a couple of meals in it. The drive up the mountain was a bit more intense than we realized, and even in summer four wheel drive would have been helpful as the last stretch up to the cabin is just gravel. All in all, we had a lovely visit and would stay again.

Decent mountain getaway
Overall the cabin was a lovely getaway. Great memories were made! However, few items need updated on their listing. It says it has a firepit and to bring your own firewood (which we did). However there is no firepit on site. There is a outdoor gas fire feature, but it's not your typical "sit and roast marshmellow" type deal which was very disappointing. The cabin did not have a coffee pot which was a major issue for us. There was also a very odd/foul smell on the downstairs level. When you ask questions to the guest service number, the company responds quickly initially and goes hunting for the answer. Their answer usually didn't help at all and you realize it's just not worth continuing. For example I asked about how to use the cabin heating system (which is a type I had not seen before) and the response was the microwave should be working. Cabin was also pretty dusty in areas. Overall though, great escape, beautiful view, and lots of games for the family and kids to enjoy. Just needs a minor touch up!

Wonderful place stay but the following items should be fixed: 1. Hot tub was never cleaned or drained prior to arrival as stated in listing. It has scum and dirt all along the side and this was a huge disappointment because we could not use it because of the water quality. 2. Water and ice dispensers on the refrigerator so not work properly. 3. Basement room where the bunk bed set up has no heat option and when temperatures drop it is beyond being able to used a room. 4. Ping pong table does not have a way to mount the net and basically should just be disposed of because of its size. I would like to be contacted by the owner as I feel that the listing was misrepresented with the hot tub issues that were present. The overall house was fine and thank goodness the views allowed for you to forget about other items that should not have been at this residence.

Girls Weekend
Overall, we loved the property. It was nice to have a fully stocked kitchen with lots of kitchen tools, utensils, storage containers, casserole dishes and such. We were happily surprised that there were some extras that we don't always see in rental houses such as aluminum foil and plastic wrap, extra toilet paper in each bathroom, extra trash bags, recycling bins, some basic spices that are commonly used, some coffee for the keurig with some individual packs of sweetner, not a ton for an entire stay, but if you forgot to get your coffee, you can at least get through a day until you get to a store. The property has lovely mountain views. We had plenty of room for 7 women, ranging from 32-47 years old. Plenty of games in the garage to play. We did not use this area b/c we couldn't figure out how to heat the garage and it was down to 20 degrees while we were there. Some issues: the ice maker did not work, so we had no ice for the time we were there. There was a snow storm and we were concerned about getting back down the mountain to go town as we all struggled to get to the location due to the snow and icey conditions. None of our cars were 4 wheel drive and it was quite frightening with all the slipping and sliding, especially since it is a single winding road that doesn't have any lights, other than headlights and the road is near the edge of the mountain. Thankfully, we all made it, but it was soooo scary! So if you are not used to driving in the mountains and there is inclement weather, especially snow and ice, bring a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The fireplace did not have instructions, and we were not able to use it during our trip which is extremely disappointing, especially considering the low temperatures. We couldn't get the pilot light lit and all 7 of us tried and call husbands for help. The hot tub was soo dirty! The water was green and cloudy. We called and they sent someone out. He did add some chemicals and cleaned the filter, which was absolutely disgusting!!!! It did not get any better. Some ladies refused to get in b/c it was so dirty. We tried to make the best of it since the purpose was supposed to hot tubbing, gaming and watching movies by the fire. It did not seem like it had been drained and cleaned before our visit. Overall, we were pleased with the cabin. We agreed we would stay here again, just would request more directions on how to use fireplace/heaters and definitely hot tub drained & cleaned

Lovely mountain home with incredible view
We stayed at this mountain top home for a week with our 5 teenagers! Not only is this home spacious and offers plenty of "downtime activities" for the kids, the views were what really made our stay. Many hours were spent by all just rocking and swinging on the porch. Yes, there are bugs...it's the mountains and is to be expected. Yes, the WiFi is slow...again it's the mountains. But our teens managed just fine! This mountainside retreat is located central to everything and just an hours drive to many incredible adventures. Our kids are already asking if we can come back again next summer. Thank you for the incredible week away!

Beautiful views with lots of amenities
This home is at the top of a ridge overlooking the mountains. It is an a gated neighborhood with homes spread out across the mountain. The homes are on large lots with many trees, so it is very quiet and private. The property backs up to the national forest. The views from the porches are amazing! Our favorite thing to do was to sit in the hot tub and watch the sunset. The house has everything that you need for a stay. There are plenty of pots, pans silverware, plates and cups. You are provided with enough soap, dishwashing liquid, detergent, paper towels, and toilet paper for a few days, depending on the size of your party. The house is very clean. The home has a shuffle board table in the living room and ping-pong, pool, and air hockey in the garage. There are board games, puzzles, and books for your use. The hot tub is on the lower level porch. There is plenty of seating both inside and out. A large family or group of friends will be very comfortable with the space. The 4th bedroom has a full-twin bunkbed and a twin trundle, so it may be most comfortable for children or young adults. A few reviews mention the road to the home. Like most of the residential/farm roads in the area, the road to the house is narrow and winds up the mountain. It is well maintained and not busy. We encountered only one car during our 5 day stay. The road is paved and the driveway is gravel. The road has two places where you encounter a short, steep switch back- one is at the beginning of the street and one is at the bottom of the driveway. The first time up the road can be a bit daunting, for you may not be about to see over the crests. (Especially if you don't drive in the mountains much like us.) However, the second day of driving the road was so much easier. As the listing states, you will need a four wheel drive if there is snow on the ground. We had no difficulty in dry weather with our SUV. It is definitely worth the drive! The neighborhood is directly off one of the major roads in the area, so it was very easy to get to everything that you want to see and do. It is a short drive to Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Smoky Mountain Railroad, and several cute towns with shopping, breweries and a winery. In the summer, there is rafting, tubing, ziplining, and other outdoor pursuits within 30 min. of the home. There is also a lake nearby for boating. Year-round, there is fly fishing and hiking. It is the perfect base camp. It is obvious that this is a cherished family retreat, not just a money-maker rental. It has many personal touches. You feel like you are staying at a friend's home. We were very pleased with all aspects of this rental and hope to return in the summer.

Lazy Bear Outlook WHAT A VIEW!!
You don’t want to pass up the opportunity to stay at Lazy Bear Lookout! The view is AMAZING! The cabin was clean and had everything my husband and I needed. It not far from Franklin, Dillsboro, or Sylva. They had cute little shops to explore and yummy restaurants to eat at. We will definitely be back and will take our kids next time to enjoy all the games!!
