Burnside Lodge is a beautiful chalet on the banks of the river Lundy, 3 miles from Fort William and 3 miles from the ski resort of Nevis Range.
Set in garden grounds in the small hamlet of ‘Happy Valley’, a rural location on the outskirts of town.
The chalet is on one level, easy entry from the car park onto a decked area with barbecue, outdoor seating and covered eating area overlooking the river.
On entering the chalet into an open plan living, dining kitchen area the triple aspect room has a log burner for those chillier nights and sky tv.
The kitchen is well equipped with all the appliances you will need for your break, oven, hob, microwave, dish washer, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer,etc.
One bedroom, with views to Ben Nevis and surrounding area, has a king size bed and is ensuite with a power shower.
The second bedroom, countryside views, has two single beds which on request can be zipped and linked to a super king. The bathroom is outside the bedroom door and has a bath with shower.
Both rooms have wardrobes and plenty of drawer space. Hairdryers, Tv/dvd, books, games and dvd’s.
There is free WiFi in the property.
A garden shed is provided for bikes etc.
From the deck you may on rare occasions see a selection of wildlife, deer, otters, mink and always varied amounts of birds from woodpeckers to sparrows. ‘Resident’ mallard ducks are on the river bank daily.
From the chalet you can go hiking through the forest trails or the ‘Ben’ if your feeling energetic. There is a cycle path into town from the top of our road and also up to Nevis Mountain Range where there are numerous bike tracks and a high wire adventure park. Nevis Range has two restaurants one at base station and one accessed by a mountain gondola which give for great views on a clear day.
There is a bus stop at the top of the road if you want to catch a bus to town or further afield like Inverness.
The 18 hole golf course is a mile away and has a club house for a wee dram if you feel like dropping in!
The prestigious Inverlochy Castle Hotel is a short walk away for that special meal if you’d like.
Fort William is the ‘outdoor capital’ of the uk and as such is a great base for numerous activities and likewise for day trips to ie; Mallaig on the Jacobite steam train, or the rugged glens of Glencoe, or the Isle of Skye. Visit the stunning silver sands of Morar and its beautiful coastline.
