New Owner was onsite and handled the check-in. Seems to be putting a lot of effort into continually renovating the business. I was passing through to Alaska in January, and this was an easy place to get some quick sleep. I plan to drive through again in February or March, and plan to stay here again.

Great value!
Old but large room. Comfortable. TV connection either didn’t work or I’m not smart enough to operate it. Would stay again…great value.

Some good points and some not so good
This was a place of contrasts. The rooms, separate bedroom and living quarters, were large, with vinyl plank flooring, which I love. There was a full-size fridge and a microwave. On the down side, there was a stove, but the oven didn't work. The only window in the living area was really dirty. The owners(?) sat outside for several hours and I kept wondering why they weren't washing windows!! There wasn't a hair dryer, ice machine or hot water. I ran the water for a bit, but decided not to have a shower because the water didn't get hot and I didn't want to waste any more than I already had. When we went to bed, it was so noisy in one of the rooms beside us. It sounded like there was remodelling going on and it kept on for the longest time. On the whole, the price was great but I'd certainly be willing to pay more for hot water and a hair dryer.

No TV or internet for ALL rooms
No TV and no internet. They gave me an internet password which was for a free 7-day trial. The property was a mess. I have never stayed anywhere that was so unkept. No TV or internet? Charge a little more to make ones stay more comfortable. The owners, however, were very nice. The air conditioner in the room was a huge bonus as well since I’m finding most on the Yukon don’t have them.

BRING YOUR FLIP FLOPS.
This is a bare bones motel. The floors were very dirty but the rest of the room was clean. The best part of this motel was the desk clerk. She was very friendly and welcoming.

This Motel looks very worn, however, the room they gave me was okay. The air conditioner is behind the drapes, very inconvenient at night. The frame at the bottom of the bed was so obtrusive I had to wear my sandals inside so I didn't stub my toe. Great for just two nights, the front desk couple are very nice.

This is an older Motel, but, even though it needs updating...it is clean, quiet, safe and comfortable. The staff are sweet, happy people who will do anything for you.

Kindness above and beyond most.
I stayed in this motel once before on my first driving trip from Phoenix to Alaska. The rooms are clean, spacious, with free wifi, nice amenities, and very friendly owners. 11 months later, they remembered me, and asked after my dog and wife. On this occasion, I ran into terrible winter driving conditions including an hour delay while 3 jack knifed tractor trailers were towed to the top of an extremely icy hill. I called the hotel in a panic, it was then 11:00 PM and I still had 150 miles of white out conditions to drive, after the road reopened. The proprietor told me not to worry. I finally arrived at 3:30, strung out and exhausted. The proprietor answered the door right away, she had been waiting in the back for me to arrive. I was checked in, and fast asleep in a comfortable bed 15 minuets after knocking on their door. I hope you never have to drive the mountain pass between Fort St. John and Fort Nelson in the winter, at night. If you do, and decide to call it a night in Fort Nelson, I hope you remember this story and the kindness of these owners when deciding where to stay for the night.
