Positively Perfect!
Quiet little cabin close to the water. Bit of a hike up the hill to get to the car, but great cardio! Owner Denise drove our bags down in the side by side, even offered to take back up when we were done! She was quick to respond to the few problems we had that were eas to resolve. 20 inute drive to Fort Francis if you need to pick anything up. For sure want to come back!

Good but some issues
First off, this cabin is in a beautiful spot - pretty much right on the beach, with gorgeous sunsets and great swimming (which was perfect for us since it was so hot during our week there). As mentioned, the cabin is pretty basic. This was fine for us but it was missing some things that you'd expect to be there. Luckily we had read a previous review that advised bringing blankets as there was only one fitted sheet and two top-sheets and a crocheted throw. When the temp dropped the last night we would have been quite cold if we hadn't brought our own blankets. We also had our own tea towels and toilet paper which was good since there was only half a roll in the outhouse! There are also only two quite flat pillows in the cabin so I regretted not bringing ours. The biggest issue I found, though, is the hill that's mentioned briefly in the listing. This isn't a hill. It's a very steep gravel roadbed that hasn't been completed as a road. The gravel is slippery and the climb down is treacherous. To haul all the stuff required for a week down that thing is a feat for anyone but I think especially of people who have bigger issues with mobility, like my mother, but who often push their limits. I could just see my mom thinking that this place would be okay for her and then arriving to face that climb down which she simply wouldn't be able to do. And what happens in that case? In my opinion, more needs to be said about the realistic accessibility of this cabin. It is a suitable place in a gorgeous setting but it certainly isn't for everyone.

Perfect weekend hideout!
We surely enjoyed our long weekend hideout by the lake. Kids enjoyed the beach, as expected and parents relaxed with serene view of lake and surroundings. Hope to be back for a longer stay in the future. Thanks for having us!

Beautiful beach, great cabin
The property is beautiful. Long beach area, very clean, cabin is small but certainly big enough for 3 adults and comfortable (we are 3 -- 60+ year old women). Cabin is basically equipped, may want to get a list of what is there so you can bring along what you may want. Eg. bring along a couple of blankets, sheets, pillows, kitchen towels etc. Hill is a bit of a detriment especially for our geriatric group but we managed to carry our stuff up the stairs. Thank you Matt for helping us out at our arrival. Also thank you for the 2 well used fans in 30+ degree weather!! Great time!

Beach and Sunsets!
I chose the cabin because I’m a beach girl and the beach in the photos grabbed my attention. It was everything I’d hoped for and our stay here was perfect! My hubby and I came to Fort to visit our family and this was a great location! The cabin is quaint and has everything you need along with beautiful sunsets that colour the lake and sky. We will definitely be back!

Nice getaway!
We were amazed at the views and the fishing from the dock was great. The place was very clean and the amenities were more than we could have expected. Next time we would like to explore around Rainy lake more, once we get over our fear of tipping the canoe lol. Our hosts, Matt and Dee were very helpful and accommodating. We absolutely loved our time there and hope to be back next year:)

Can't say enough!
What a hidden gem! We stayed in the beach cabin, which we found to be surprisingly roomy, rustic (in the very best sense), fully equipped, and spotless. Our hosts were quick to respond to any questions. Our favorite part, however, was the location: Rainy Lake on your doorstep, a great beach, and the enchanting Northern Bush all around. We really can't say enough and will be back soon. Thank you Matt and Dee for sharing your place with us!

Peaceful stay
We had a great time enjoying the peace and quiet of Rainy Lake. The cabin was wonderful - kept clean and well cared for. Great beach to dock the sailboat, nice firepit to warm the evenings. We were fine with the outhouse, but anyone with a "high maintenance family member" should know that the outhouse is the cabins' toilet option. We hope to visit again!

Relaxing getaway in a peaceful setting!
We took our two labs and two kids, aged 5 and 8, for our ten year wedding anniversary and had an amazing experience! The cabin was perfect for everything we needed! We played out on the lake most of the day, grilled out, and sat around the fire while enjoying the scenery! Thank you so much for the memories that were made!

Perfect little beach house, great fishing nearby
We enjoyed our stay in this beach house and it provided all the amenities we needed, and worked perfect for a fishing heavy weekend for the 3 of us. Although the cabin doesn't have a flush toilet, it does have running water and a brand new shower, and the cabin as a whole is quite comfortable. The views of the lake and expansive sand beach are excellent. There is great fishing for bass, walleye, and northern pike in very close proximity of the cabin. Driving and finding the cabin is easy, all on paved roads. The only very slight downfalls is the cabin got a little hot with temps in the 80's, and the cabin is exposed to NW winds which could cause issues if you're into fishing.
