Houseboats in Fort-de-France

"The description is over exaggerated. The place is clean but old. Towels were old. Breakfast was good. If you are looking for a cheap stay then this place is for you. I would rather pay a few more $. There's not much in the area other than by the marina, approximately 10 minutes walk from the hotel."

"This is a wonderfully situated hotel with a sweeping view down towards Fort-de-France, The staff is unfailingly helpful and cheerful. A delightful place with a gorgeous huge tree (don't recognize it but it looks about 200 years old) where you can sit and enjoy a quiet cup of coffee. A nice lap pool too. This is a class operation. I can't say enough good things about it and the people who run it."

"We stayed 14 days in this beautiful property. It was exactly as depicted, but even better!!! The veranda and garden area were so lovely and peaceful. It is a perfect place to enjoy the warm Martinique nights, beautiful sunsets, or breakfast overlooking the bay. The inside living area was spacious, with a large living/dining room, large bedrooms, and a stocked kitchen. Thierry and Marie-Jose were terrific hosts. Although we got lost getting there (OUR fault!), Marie-Jose was patient enough to help us navigate to the property and greeted us warmly. They were so helpful with suggestions on what to see on the island and spoke English very well. There are great day trips to St. Pierre, Balata Garden, and Les Trios-Ilets. Short jaunts to the city center to see the Schoelcher Library and other museums and enjoy local fare for lunch. We recommend renting a car if you stay here. My father loved the property so much that he wanted to stay another week by the time we left. We wish we were back in Martinique now.
