Walk through turquoise gates and you have arrived at the Blue Agave Bungalow, to enjoy private moments completely enclosed behind adobe walls. Have your breakfast and coffee while sitting on the front patio to take in the mountain air. You are enveloped by a landscape of pecan trees, yucca, ocotillo and an amazing blue agave. This most inviting 2 bedroom home features 2 baths – one with a romantic claw foot tub and the other with double walk-in shower. Along with the full kitchen, dining area and backyard patio with grill, you may find it hard to leave this amazing home that is a destination in itself.
The Blue Agave Bungalow vacation home in Fort Davis, Texas has 1,300 square feet. The living room looks out onto a private walled courtyard. The dining area is large with pine floors and French doors that open to a second patio. The kitchen has new cabinetry with tile counter tops, a dishwasher and views to a courtyard. The entire property is enclosed by hay bale or stucco walls to provide security for animals, children and privacy for all. Pecan and cottonwood trees shade the yard.

Great place in Fort Davis
My husband and I spent 2 nights in the Blue Agave - it was perfect home away from home while we enjoyed the MacDonald Observatory - dark skies and the Davis Mountains State Park. Everything you need there and in a great location.

Wonderful quaint house near Fort Davis main street
We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Agave Bungalow. It had all the amenities we sought including a complete kitchen, washer and dryer. We will book this accommodation again next time we come to the Fort Davis area.

An Oasis
The home was spotless, thoughtfully furnished, and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The front porch, behind the adobe walls with the cool grass and breeze was our and our puppies favorite place to enjoy the evening and the spectacular stars.

Great stay in Big Bend Country!
We used the place as a base to explore Fort Davis, Alpine, and Marfa. Went to Star Party at McDonald Observatory as well. This is a great location and the house is just a few blocks from downtown Fort Davis. House was great, even better than described online, and central air was huge blessing when temperatures hit 100 outside. Not much to do in Fort Davis though. And most of the local restaurants either close after lunch or are out of business altogether. That said, this was a great location as a base. We stayed two nights and then headed to Big Bend for the remainder of the trip.

Sunset Home
The house was comfortable, clean, and well-stocked. Sunsets from the back patio were especially enjoyable. Although near a state highway, it is a very quiet location. The shower could be improved by the addition of grab bars or at least a slip-resist bathmat because it has a very slick floor. Addition of a wine bottle opener in the kitchen would also be desirable. Those are literally the only things we found wanting.

This was a lovely little cottage, and very comfortable for 2 couples.
We had a wonderful weekend in Fort Davis, with perfect weather and gorgeous sunrises/moonsets - which we were able to watch simultaneously in the front yard. The property was well maintained and very charming. The one and only thing we'd change? The pillows could use an upgrade.

A great place to retreat from the heat.
Cons Wooden floor and bathtub need to be cleaned. Kitchen sink water pressure really bad. Shower water pressure is good but shower head is too small. Sprays water in weird directions. Bush by blue doors outside needs to be trimmed so both doors will open when moving bags in and out. Pros AC is nice and cold. Beds and linens are in good shape, cookware and kitchen adequate. Quiet and private in the yard. No bugs. Staff is very nice and helpful. Besides minor issues I am very satisfied.

Great place
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Blue Agave and like the last 2 times it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Very comfortable cottage that is very well maintained. Really appreciate the owner letting us bring our dogs. Not too many place allow that in Fort Davis. We will return again. One concern was the lock box that the key was in. We got the key out just fine but we could get the key back in the lock box or reinsert the lock box. So I had to leave the key under the doormat when we departed. We also noticed a few dead roaches every morning. No live ones just dead ones. These are minor details and would not prevent us from returning. We look forward to our visit next year.

Close to our favorite things
We have been to Ft. Davis many times and this was our first time to stay at this property. It was perfect for what we needed with easy access to the state park, the fort, and McDonald Observatory. The host was very communicative and helpful.
