Eremo di Montevergine : Petrea, with private terrace and astonishing panoramic view

Petrea, whose name comes from Greek mythology and means “source of the rocks”, is in the oldest part of the hermitage and is ideal for a family or group of friends.

The apartment can be accessed from the gate beside the church of San Francesco, through a large shared courtyard embellished by beautiful old palm trees, and also from the upper garden, with its terraces and various viewpoints, where there is an entrance from the street.

It consists of:

- a spacious master bedroom, with old wooden beams, a fireplace and a complete bathroom, which was part of the original residential core of the eighteenth-century building. The bedroom, joined to the apartment, can also be accessed independentlytrough the glazed doorsto the upper garden, onto which it looks;

- avery scenic double bedroom with a queen size bedand a complete bathroom;

- a third double bedroom, known as the “hermit’s cell”, also with a complete bathroom and a window that originally opened onto a portico when the hermitage was first built, more than two centuries ago; over the years, with the extension of the house, it has acquired a unique view over the bright, scenic entrance;

- a fourth complete bathroom serving the living room;

- a spacious internal kitchen;

- an ample entrance and a large living room of about 150 m2 in size, with a splendid view over the Bay of San Francesco. It has an adjoining level covered terrace with arches, around 40 m2 in size, which can be used all the year round to enjoy the view of the sea, the beautiful sunsets and the outline of Ventotene Island on the horizon. The terrace, on the same level as the living room, serves as the roof of the overpass, a surprising but very effective architectural solution by the English previous owner, who designed it personally at the beginning of the last century. A small wrought iron balcony, also designed by the previous owner, stands above the entrance gate, givingharmony and proportion to the facade.

For total relaxation, Petrea also has a private sun terrace, accessed via the entrance staircase, which overlooks the beautiful Bay of San Francesco and is furnished with sun loungers and a mini spa.

Finally, the guests in the apartment can enjoy a large garden with old trees, scenic terraces and a courtyard, shared with the other apartments in the building.

Petrea is therefore a large apartment, with a floor area of about 250 m2, plus external spaces, just waiting to be discovered. It sleeps six persons, has four bathrooms and is ideal for your holiday with relatives or friends, or for hosting events.

The renovation work on the apartment just described was completed in the spring of 2015, with the help of interior designer Giuliano Andrea Dell’Uva, and features some “particular” choices regarding theuse of the living space,as the owner had nodesire to further modify the original structure of the house, even with regard toits new use as guest accommodation. For the work, wide use was made of modern materials such as resin, designer lighting and special paints, together with traditional materials such as simple hand forged wrought iron and common glass.

The final results of the renovation have been photographed and published in some international furnishing magazines.

Chi effettua la prenotazione viene definito “responsabile della locazione” ed accetta tacitamente tale accordo al momento del pagamento dell’anticipo prenotazione. • L’appartamento si fitta esclusivamente al numero di occupanti dichiarati al momento della prenotazione. È ad assoluta discrezione del proprietario accettare o meno eventuali ospiti occasionali. In tal caso, verrà rielaborato il prezzo di locazione in funzione del nuovo numero di ospiti e del periodo di occupazione. Gli eventuali posti letto aggiuntivi dovranno essere forniti e collocati esclusivamente dal proprietario. • All’arrivo, ciascun ospite dovrà consegnare un documento di riconoscimento valido e corrispondere, se non già versato in precedenza tramite i siti di on-line booking, un deposito cauzionale, con carta di credito, di 200,00 euro. Tale deposito sarà interamente restituito, previa verifica del buon funzionamento e lo stato dell’appartamento e di quanto in esso contenuto, entro 24 ore dal check-out, e sarà visibile sull’estratto conto entro 10 giorni dalla restituzione. Il cliente è avvisato tramite mail dell’avvenuta restituzione. Eventuali danni eccedenti il deposito cauzionale verranno quantificati e addebitati. Il cliente è altresì tenuto a segnalare, il giorno stesso dell’arrivo, al responsabile dell’accettazione clienti, eventuali oggetti danneggiati o mancanti. • Il proprietario si riserva il diritto di accedere agli appartamenti per effettuare operazioni di pulizia, controllo o manutenzione urgente. • Il proprietario non è in alcun modo responsabile di eventuali infortuni, furti, danni alle persone od alle cose solo perché avvenuti all’interno della proprietà. • Di regola gli orari di Check in e Check out vanno sempre preventivamente concordati con il proprietario. Gli orari limite sono: Check in: dopo le ore 15:00 Check out: entro e non oltre le ore 11:00. • Si raccomanda di non gettare nel water o nei lavandini niente che possa ostruire le tubature. L’eventuale intervento di un tecnico vi sarà interamente addebitato. • I bambini sono i benvenuti, ed i loro responsabili sono tenuti a prestare una maggiore attenzione alla buona conservazione dell’appartamento e degli oggetti in esso contenuti. • Il regolamento della villa e le norme di Polizia Municipale richiedono il SILENZIO nella fascia oraria tra le 14.00 e le 16.00 e tra le 22.00 e le 8.00 e in generale un civile comportamento che eviti di creare disturbo alla quiete altrui. In particolare, data la stretta attiguità alla chiesa di San Francesco di Paola, si raccomanda di mantenere un comportamento rispettoso dei luoghi, tollerando eventuali fastidi derivanti dall’esercizio del culto religioso in ogni sua manifestazione. Il mancato rispetto di quanto elencato o un comportamento contrario alle più elementari norme di educazione civile ci troverà costretti a non consentire oltre la vostra permanenza senza che abbiate nulla a pretendere. L’immediato allontanamento comporterà la perdita da parte del cliente delle somme già versate, senza pregiudizio per richieste di risarcimento danni nei confronti del proprietario. • Qualora, durante il soggiorno o immediatamente prima dell’ arrivo, dovesse sopravvenire un qualsiasi problema che rendesse impraticabile l’appartamento, il proprietario si attiverà per la risoluzione del problema ovvero, in alternativa, assegnerà un altro alloggio con caratteristiche similari o superiori allo stesso prezzo, o in casi estremi rimborserà all’ospite il restante dell’importo pagato senza che quest’ultimo possa avanzare ulteriori richieste di risarcimento a qualsiasi titolo. L’accettazione di un nuovo alloggio estingue ogni diritto ad eventuali rimborsi o richieste di qualsiasi genere. • Come da regolamento nazionale, la tipologia di struttura, ovvero “casa vacanze”, non prevede la presenza di alcun tipo di personale in loco. Beautiful apartment with fantastic views and terraces. Property manager, Rita, was very helpful and made us feel welcome. A very relaxed feel. We loved it and would have stayed more if it had been possible. And September is a great month to visit. Still warm enough to swim and fewer tourists.

Amazing home & lovely location
This incredibly spacious home with mezmerizing ocean views was the perfect place to wake up everyday and set out to explore the beautiful island. The mostly white interiors are perfect and it's conveniently just steps away from a wonderful beach, great restaurants and delicious cappuccinos.
