Relaxing in the sun has never been nicer than on the massive oceanfront deck of this original Folly home! When you're not out windsurfing, biking the beach, or paddleboarding, take advantage of the spacious sunroom that overlooks the majestic Atlantic Ocean. The beach is just a few steps from your front door. Grab a bike or hop in the car to head up the beach towards the Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve, just two miles away. You can walk or bike through the preserve to enjoy views of the Morris Island Lighthouse for just a small donation. Local shops, fine dining, and the Folly Beach Pier are less than two miles away. Check out historic downtown Charleston, just 13 miles away, where you can enjoy fine restaurants, street art, history museums, and beautifully landscaped gardens!

Use the kitchen to cook a romantic dinner for two to enjoy in the dining area with views of the water or down at the beach.

Great Old Beach Cottage
For the price it was great. There are items that could be updated but overall great little beach house. Code didn't work when we got there so prepare to spend an hour waiting for the code but other than than the house was just as listed. For the cost compared to other homes in the area I'd rent it again in a heartbeat

Loved this place!
Oceanfront room was all glass so we could see the expanse of the ocean. It was an a prime location to see all the surfing and shell hunting. We absolutely loved it.

Access to the beach was unparalleled. Loved being able to walk down with our own ramp. The beach itself is quiet except for surfers and that was fun to watch. The house is nice, could use a few updates but it was definitely worth the stay.

Beauty and the Beast
We enjoyed the ocean access and view of the beach from the deck. It was very nice to walk on the beach from your cottage. However, the cottage was run down as if we were staying in a delapidated motel.

Nice property but very dated 60 or 70s. Florida room was beautiful but had a very bad smell to the room. Took the 3 days we were there to air it out. Place could very top notch place to stay. Just needs more TLC then it has been getting.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beach house may need some updating, especially all the sink faucets which worked but were clumsy to operate but we thoroughly enjoyed the huge sunroom and view of ocean and spent most of our time there. I enjoyed watching the pelicans fishing in the ocean and seeing porpoises and additional waterfowl.

The view and location were great, but the house is very old and needs serious fixes, painting and overall remodeling. I would not recommend this house for more that 3-4 people as the bathrooms are cramped and there is limited storage

I had to wash all my clothes two times because it smelled so musty. The back porch on the picture that is presented to us is not true. The windows are rotten. The carpet stinks and it stained from pet urine. It’s disgusting. I was tempted to send an email to the person that owns the home in Illinois. Send her a trust fund they need to not charge is much for this home. Location is great. The home is disgusting.

House with wall of windows to the sunshine and waves. This is the star of Clervue Cottage. This is a great house in need of updating and maintenance. A/C went out in sunroom making it unusable for a day. A/C needs to be replaced, period. The four of us with our 3 dogs had a great week and enjoyed the beach and decks.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. Our family absolutely loved the location. Ocean front cottage with the perfect sunroom. It was COLD and windy and stormed bad but having a sunroom that made you feel like you were on the beach was perfect. Beds were comfy and wifi worked great. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it could use updates. The cabinets are old, the doors are paper thin and some places in the flooring felt soft and furniture was ripped/old but was usable. Sunroom door had a large crack at the floor that let in cold air. Shower rods were rusted and the bathroom doors were peeling. I'm not hard to please so I would/will stay here in the future but if you like up to date/fancy decor it would not be ideal. Was given the wrong code for check in but was able to get that straight pretty quick with a phone call

Great location!
We loved the Clervue Cottage location and will be back. Steps from the ocean! Lots of space, windows and light. Clean except for one minor issue we reported. Kitchen, plates, silverware, pots, pans, refrigerator, etc. were spotless. Bedding and bathrooms very clean. Great water pressure. Some windows stuck closed. The cottage needs updating so don’t expect The Hilton. Furnishings very dated, some sofas and chairs stained and in need of replacement or slipcovers. The sunroom was great! We hung out there most of the time. Five minutes to town. Plenty of parking. A downside was the incorrect code we were given to enter and after an 8 hour trip and armfuls of luggage we were not happy. The code seems to be an issue for several renters so be prepared. But Vacasa was on it and helped immediately. No washer/dryer or iron. Bring tissues, paper towels, foil and wraps and binoculars. All in all a great little spot. Have fun!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I am fine with a vintage feel, but this rental home was in extreme disrepair; unanchored deck railings, steps etc. Debris - discarded glass window on deck, shutter on ground, abandoned refrigerator (too much to mention). The picture provided in no way resembles the actual property.

Great location
Pros: The house had an amazing location. Being right on the beach was so convenient and fun. We also loved being only a couple of miles from restaurants/bars. The beds were comfortable. Being able to bring dogs was super helpful. On the surface, everything was clean. The deck and sunroom were great to relax but still have an ocean view. Cons: Our check in code did not work upon arrival and getting in touch with the property manager was slightly difficult. The sunroom had flying ants that came out in the evening (but we were too shocked since it was so buggy outside). The kitchen could have used some updates, so if you plan on cooking a lot I would be prepared for that. The air conditioning worked our first day but stopped blowing out air our second day. Overall, though, I would stay at the house again since the location was so amazing.

Sadly disappointed
Woefully neglected property. The stench of mildew and animal urine made the sunroom unusable. Couches also had urine all over them. Half the windows in the sunroom had the seals broken in them so you could not see out of them anyway. Window in one of the bedrooms had actually fallen out due to the rotted wood on the frame. The property management communication between the call center( overseas) and the local team was terrible and they just pointed the blame at each other. It took three days and 7 phone calls to get someone out to get us internet. It is too bad as it is a very nice location and a nice town. I am guessing the real owners never go there or they would be embarrassed. Although not the fault of the property, one other note for dog owners. If you have never been to Folly Beach before, please note that at high tide there is NO beach, so you are forced the walk your dogs on a semi busy two lane rode with no sidewalks and no lights

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was clean. Kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils, plates, cups, pans, etc. The sunroom that has carpet smells like animal urine. The tv in the family room malfunctioned (no sound) and we were told by Jordan that maintenance would come look at it. They did not do so. Several nail heads sticking up on the deck and lots of trash in the yard including a pair of men's underwear. Beds were comfortable but pillows need replacing. Plumbing fixtures need maintenance. No overhead lights working in the sunroom. Comfortable furniture and good location other than having a beach access next to it.

Recommend another property!!!
For the money that I paid this is apsolutly horrible!!! Not only could we not get in the vacation rental for an hour and a half due to the door code being completely off, until I found a unlocked door. Thank God for that because no one was ever dispatched or called with the correct code to get in the house. when we did enter the house the thermostat was reading 84% in the house, come to find out both AC units are shot need complete replacement in the beach rental house. Of course we found that out a full day later. I contacted the company around 5:05 they were able to bring us portable AC units the next day. The family and I ended up sleeping outside on the balcony because it was literally cooler outside than in the house. This company should be ashamed of service and quality. The company did offer a full refund but that would mean we'd have to pack up and leave that day they also offered for us to change our vacation dates. Which I think is absurd due to the fact people work and cannot just change or request for new vacation days while they're on vacation. Those were the only options. Now for all who booked vacations the cleaning crews usually show up before guest arrive whichmeans the company was fully aware that it was 84° in the the house before we arrive. On top of that when I requested to extend our stay or if they had another location on the beach they did not nor could they extend our stay due to this house being booked back to back. Sorry for who's there now.
