Escape to the mountains in a spacious, luxury cabin sitting high atop a ridge on 13 private acres. Enjoy a hike on one of the property's nature trails or relax on the deck or in the hot tub with a glass of wine. The cabin is close to the Blue Ridge parkway, Chateau Morrisette Winery and Villa Appalaccia Winery. Floyd, a darling town brimming with music, art, culture and great food, is a short drive away.
The property is very close to several local attractions, but allows you to get away from it all and reconnect with nature. The property has walking trails that lead to a peaceful creekside picnic area.
The well appointed cabin has every comfort of home with room for guests to spread out and relax. The kitchen comes completely stocked with pots, pans, utensils, crock pot, toaster, juicer, french press, coffee grinder, coffee maker as well as plates, silverware and wine glasses.
Guests have access to the entire cabin. There is a private studio apartment in the basement, where we stay on site to prep for guests and provide assistance as needed. This space is not accessible to guests.
The views from the Blue Ridge Parkway cannot be beat! Hiking trails and gorgeous drives in every direction. Floyd Fest site is less than 3 miles from the cabin. Chateau Morrisette Winery and Restaurant is within walking distance and Villa Appalaccia is nearby as well. We love venturing into Floyd for a great cup of coffee at Red Rooster Coffee or catching some live music and delicious brick oven pizza at Dogtown Roadhouse.
The cabin is remote and on a private road so AWD or 4WD vehicles are strongly recommended during the winter months. Ice and snow can make the driveway tricky to navigate with 2WD.
We are a 20 minute drive to downtown Floyd. The Chateau Morrisette Winery is a short walk away and the Villa Appalachia Winery is a short 5 minute drive.
Note: The Blueridge Parkway is closed whenever there is ice or snow as it is not scraped or treated by the highway department. If GPS routes you this way, check to make sure it is open before setting out for travel.
Guest Guidelines:
If your shoes are wet or dirty, please remove them before entering and leave them on the entryway porch or on the boot tray just inside the door.
We do not allow smoking in the cabin or on the property.
Please let us know if you plan on having a campfire during your stay so we can setup the fire pit for you. Please read the fire safety rules provided in the user guide at the cabin.
If you use the outdoor picnic table for a meal, make sure that food waste is disposed of properly so we don’t attract unwelcome animal attention.
When leaving the cabin, please turn off lights to conserve energy.
If something is broken, please let us know so that we can repair or replace it.
Please be respectful of our cabin and treat it with care. We want to ensure that all of our guests arrive to a clean, happy, inviting space!
