Our apartments are located in Piazza Beccaria, focal point of a major urban renewal program, by Giuseppe Poggi, initiated During the brief period When Florence was capital of Italy (1865-1871).

Piazza Beccaria, backdrop of monumental taste, Which is the fulcrum of a medieval tower surrounded by a number of imposing palaces with a concave neoclassical facade. In one of These elegant palaces are hosted our apartments.

Our apartments are located in Piazza Beccaria, the focal point of the urban renewal of Florence capital of Italy from 1865 by the architect Giuseppe Poggi.

The square, scenic backdrop of monumental taste, is characterized by a medieval tower in the center surrounded by a series of buildings with concave facades in neoclassic style and it is in one of these elegant buildings that are located our apartments.

BED BUGS
Do not stay here. We got bit by bed bugs and there was no WiFi or pillow cases. Not clean and not enough amenities that were promised. Gross and almost unusable resources (toilets and beds). The host never answered any messages. Terrible stay.

Great location to walk around and enjoy what Florence has to offer. Plenty of space in the apartment for our family of 6, plus our family dog! We cooked dinner both nights, and found the majority of what we needed in the kitchen. The sleeper sofa is very old and not very comfortable… I wouldn’t recommend relying on it.

Lorenzo, the owner, nicely let us drop our bags before check-in time, but that is about the only positive. The wi-fi was out Sunday thru Tuesday. After repeated requests, it was fixed. But the broken washing machine and dishwasher were never fixed. The sleeper sofa is so old, you sit on the metal frame. However, the bedrooms are nice-sized and one of the beds was very comfortable. The view of the Duomo was great, but we only spent a few minutes looking as mosquitos overwhelmed us.

We asked for an extra night 4 weeks in advance, no answer. We were on the train an hour out,and he said we could stay the extra night, for cash..We could not figure out how to use the washing machine.no instructions. 1 roll of toilet paper,the toilet was very difficult to flush, my husband used a pail to fill with water and flush. 2 keys, my husband went to an appointment and we had to wait 2 hours for his return,our key was broken! The light and fuse in the kitchen did not work,we had to put the coffee pot on the floor in the living room. Light in bedroom closet did not work had to put suit case on floor by the window to see. 1 dirty dish towel. He left a mop in the laundry closet which smelled terrible, I washed it and put it outside.The worst was — the internet did not work! We called for 3 days and he did not answer until late on the 3rd day.We called T mobile and called my son in New Jersey for help.t mobile said ,nothing wrong with our phones. We had to go back to the train station to find schedules for the rest of our trip. We have stayed at vrbo s for many years and in many countries,this was the worst.We like to have breakfast at our place and then venture out,sometimes bringing home food for supper. He certainly put a dent in our vacation,we wasted so much time with internet and $$$ to call New Jersey.very disappointing experience. The other reviews might have been from people only staying a few nights.We were there 5 nights. I would like VRBO to look into this, and reply. We paid up front and did not get what we paid for.

Great location and accommodations
The property was centrally located in the city, able to walk to many sights that we wanted to see. Grocery shopping is very close. Bus stops are right in front of the building. One word of caution for most cities in Italy, the floors are much taller than the US. When the site says that it is on the third floor, it is the equivalent of the fourth or fifth floor in the US because of the number of steps involved. Not a problem here as it has an elevator but each place we stayed in Italy was the same. Plan accordingly when looking for a flat to rent. Loved this place, and loved the view from the balcony, the host was very easy to work with.

Nice neighborhood and view
The house was bug enough for six people. The spot is perfect to discover the city, within walking distance to visit alla the monuments and the river. We had two cars which we could easily park on the street. The place is quite old though needs renovation and some new furniture. Also it could be a little more cleaner. The balcony is small but you enjoy the view. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful location and home for the historic city of Florence !
My wife and our 2 adult kids all had a wonderful stay at this very comfortable and charming home. Form the minute you walk out the door and start your short walk into the historic district of Florence it is beautiful and the heart beat of a wonderful Italian town and people. Highly recommend this residence, Simona met us on time and showed us up to the apartment, the elevator is very nice for luggage and the view from the small balcony of the city roof line i very pretty. Nice and quiet at night with very comfortable beds. Highly recommend this home and would rent it again ! Jeff & Shelly

Absolutely loved it!
I stayed at this VRBO with 5 other girls and we loved it. It was clean and comfortably fit the 6 of us. It is in a great location with lots of restaurants nearby and it was only a short walk to the center of town. The view from the balcony is just as stunning as it looks in the pictures! Lorenzo was great too and made sure we had everything we needed!

Renaissance trip!
First time visit to Florence. We loved the location as it was walking distance to the Duomo and other attractions, but tucked into the University area so it had a less touristy and more local vibe. Lorenzo our host, allowed us early access to drop-off our bags, which was wonderful. Place was clean and ready for us. We were a family of 5, 4 of which were women, so the only caveat is that one bathroom was not enough for us. We knew when we booked but actually experiencing it made us realize we need a second bathroom if we are a large group. I'm sure if it was guys it wouldn't have been a problem. Again, this is not a criticism, just our experience. Overall, we loved the place and the location. Looking forward to returning to Florence.

Wonderful place to stay!
Our family of four (teenagers and adults) had a very comfortable stay here for two nights. The view from the balcony was just like the listing photo and many great shops and restaurants were within easy walking distance. Lorenzo was wonderful and very helpful, showing us how to use the elevator and how the locks worked. He even was able to meet us for a slightly early check-in. This apartment is one of a few owned by his family in this building, previously the home of his grandfather. We really liked knowing this was a family property. The furniture including beds are very comfortable and the art work in the first bedroom particularly charming. Be sure to check the balcony duomo view at night - so beautiful! We definitely recommend this place!

All I can say is... AMAZING
This apartment was fantastic. Large and airy with everything you need. Lovely balcony with the most fantastic view of the Duomo. Lorenzo was great. Very welcoming, and friendly and enthusiastic about his city. The area was just amazing, transport directly outside the apartment, close to the shops, street entertainment every day/night, mixed with the locals and tourists. Just an awesome area. Highly recommended. Ask Lorenzo about his other apartment - that too is amazing. Thanks Lorenzo. It was great to meet you and we really enjoyed Florence.

Florence Culture with a View
Apartment location is excellent – an easy 15 minute walk directly to the cultural & historic center of Firenze. The view from the balcony is pretty much a post-card with Duomo Cupola smack center. Weather permitting, a daily breakfast on the balcony is a must! We loved the quirkiness of the old building – the caged elevator, the forked keys, the wooden shutters and spaciousness of the apartment. Simona gave us a great overview of the place and also responded to several of our calls. Every room has an air conditioning unit, which came-in handy during hot summer days. There are two cafes directly downstairs in the same building – fantastic for getting breakfast or sitting down for a desert and coffee. There are many little restaurants on Borgo la Croce, cute little street that takes you to the historical areas of Florence. Overall, a wonderful stay in Tuscany. Observations/suggestions: Apartment noise insulation from neighbors is very poor – it seemed they were taking daily shower in our main bedroom. While the swallows in the yard were very romantic during breakfast, their greeting of the sun at 4:30 in the morning was not. Watch-out for mosquitoes in the summer time if you leave open windows. There are no new buildings in historical center – the apartment shows its age (part of the charm). Owners, don’t be shy with paper towels in the kitchen and toilet paper rolls. :) Communication with owners could be improved (faster response time and clear contact info) – maybe summer vacation time was a factor. For travelers – do NOT rely on ordering a taxi cab through the main Florence taxi service [+39 055 4390]. If we did not have a backup plan (public transportation), we would have missed our flight (the taxi never came). Thank you for your hospitality! - Vlad

Our stay at the apartment was wonderful! Lorenzo was a marvelous host, who was helpful in answering our questions, prompt when we needed assistance, and great at providing suggestions for local restaurants. The apartment is beautiful. The terrace has a view of the Duomo, which is a great spot to watch the sunset and drink some wine. The location couldn't be better. It's a short walk to the historical sites and many restaurants via the Borgo Santa Croce. In the other direction, you can get a taste of how the locals live--including a park along the Arno and places to buy groceries. We'd stay again without hesitation.

Great apartment near center of Florence
We enjoyed this great and convenient apartment with multiple large bedrooms and a nice kitchen/dining/sitting area. It also had a balcony with a great view. The apartment looked nice and was conveniently located on the edge of the old center of Florence with a parking garage nearby. We spent an evening and day in town, and were able to walk to all the main attractions and restaurants, which is great as it would be difficult to drive in town with so many visitors roaming the streets. This apartment is a great value and the owner was great and helpful! Rik

Close to everything and with a stunning view of the Duomo!
Close to the city centre, but not right in the middle of it. You almost feel like you are part of neighbourhood. Its an easy walk to the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and the city centre. Lorenzo and his mom were awesome (as was his friend helping out). The view of the Duomo is exactly like you see in his photos - stunning!

The best view of Florence
This is the best apartment I have stayed in. Very clean, comfortable beds and a balcony overlooking the Duomo and Vecchio with a glass of wine! Parking is 2 minutes walk away, amazing gelateria downstairs and a great location for exploring the city. It really felt like home. Many critics and dissatisfied with the host
We are deeply dissatisfied with the host. We travel a lot and have many experiences with diverse holiday homes. Now our concrete points of criticism: 1. The arrival: we were not given a specific address, as there are two number 4s on the piazza. According to the listing, there should have been someone to welcome us from 16h onwards. This was not the case. Instead, we had to contact the host and were only then told to self check-in. Why did they not write this on the listing? 2. After our arrival, we discovered that we could not access the washing machine. Again, we had to contact the host several times. Only then we were informed that the door was locked. We had to go to the city to buy new clothes because they did not agree to open the door that evening. Furthermore, we discovered that there was no information regarding the WiFi connection listen on the rental agreement. Again, we had to contact the host several times and were given wrong information. Hence, 3. We were asked to pay a cash payment that was not included in the rental agreement. From our point of view, we have already paid all sums to be paid in advance listed in the contract. Also, the sum to be paid in cash is always paid at the end of the stay. Again, we inquired about this sum and were not given a clear answer.

Achtung aufgepasst!
Der Vermieter sollte ausreichend vor Anreise kontaktiert werden, ob die Wohnung noch zur Verfügung steht. Unsere Reise begann leider etwas chaotisch, da der Vermieter die Wohnung zweimal vergeben hatte. Einmal über Fewo, wo wir gebucht haben und einmal über Airbnb. Dies fiel leider erst am Tag unserer Ankunft auf. Der Vermieter stornierte die Buchung einfach und war für uns in keinster Weise erreichbar. So standen wir mit drei Kinder einfach mitten in Florenz und mussten zu sehen,wie wir klar kommen. Zum Glück hat uns das Fewo-Team gut geholfen und uns bei der Sucher einer neuen Unterkunft unterstützt. Also aufgepasst und nachgefragt, ob man die Wohnungsschlüssel tatsächlich bekommt!
