The home was nice and conveniently located. The kids loved the secret stairs through the bookcase, but there needs to be a hook or something to hold it open. My granddaughter was scared to stay upstairs if the door was closed. The upstairs is kid friendly, but not so much for adults as several of us smacked our heads on the ceiling coming down the stairs. We enjoyed our stay none the less. The kitchen is not well equipped, but we made due. No mixing bowls, no electric griddle, and what was there looked like it was picked up at a thrift store. We were celebrating a birthday and had to go buy a bowl to mix the cake. They did have a hand mixer and one 9x13 glass pan we could bake it in. There was NO dishwasher, but there was a microwave, coffee pot and a toaster. They ask all guests to wash their dishes prior to leaving. Some of the dishes in the cupboard did not look clean, so we washed everything before we used it. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were nice, although they were not stocked very well with enough toilet paper or towels to last 8 people through the week. They did provide complementary little shampoo, etc. (like in a hotel) We ended up buying toilet paper and laundry soap to wash towels in the washer & dryer. The home is advertised to hold 10 people. We had 8 and I would not have wanted to have any more than that. It's a pretty small space. As a fire inspector, it bothered me that there are no egress windows in any of the bedrooms. They are not to code.
