I hate that I have to leave a negative review, but this ad is extremely MISLEADING.
Booked this place for our honeymoon with an impression we had an entire apartment to ourselves. This is the mission of VRBO after all: “the whole place to yourself”/No shared spaces. It is also listed as an Apartment, which it is not. It is a single room within an apartment with several other rooms with other guests. AKA a hostel. This was extremely disappointing for our honeymoon. The only accurate thing about the ad is the measurements of the room. I remember seeing it when booking, but honestly just thought it was a tiny apartment or a mistake in the description since, again, VRBO is all about No Shared Spaces.
There was also construction occurring and we had no idea until we arrived. The host said it was on their website but we did not book through their website. We didn’t even know there was a website until we arrived and the host did not message us through VRBO to let us know. That being said, we stayed over a weekend so it did not overly inconvenience us. But we had no access to the promised terrace.
Why we stayed/would return:
The hostel was very clean and recently renovated.
Our fellow guests were friendly.
The location is impeccable for the price.
The host, knowing it was our honeymoon, left us champagne and chocolate. That was so touching.
The host had great communication. We did not complain to them at the time because we feared any repercussion.
