Disliked: Cleanliness
Unwelcoming
As a family, we have stayed at a variety of VRBOs over the years - some nicer than others. But what they all had in common was that they were clean and welcoming. Unfortunately, that was not the case with this property. From the leftover food in the fridge, the used coffee grounds in the coffee maker, the half-drunk beer on the dresser, the questionably clean dishes piled high in the drying rack, the one bath towel thrown on the back of the bathroom door like it had just been used, and the dead crickets all over, it did not at all feel like the owner was expecting guests. The surrounding property is filled with junk. The oven didn't work and there is no place to sit and eat, so all the food we brought to cook was a waste. You have to regularly plug in the water pump (to an ungrounded outlet just above the bathroom sink) to ensure an on-going supply of water. We almost left early except that we wanted to make the most of the beautiful surrounding area. I would recommend visiting Hooper Island if you want to get off the beaten path, but would not recommend staying here.
