"The location and natural surroundings were stunning. We loved the view, the sound of the waves, and the tranquility. The beach, decks, and exterior furniture were fantastic. Large windows let in so much light, and the WiFi was strong enough for remote work. However, there are some issues. The second bed is just a mattress on the floor, and the first bed was uncomfortable, causing back pain. Basic cooking supplies were minimal, and cell service is spotty. The house leaks when it rains, causing a musty smell. Cleanliness needs improvement—we found mouse droppings and dead bugs. The water is potable but has a strong, unpleasant odor (iron). The owner lets you know after you book to bring in water, but the ad should be updated so people are aware before booking. We did not appreciate the presence of mice and the lack of response from the host. We sent a note halfway through mentioning the high mouse activity and that we caught a mouse with the traps Creighton set up after we called him. The host never responded. Creighton was responsive and helped take care of the mouse, but it would have been nice for the owner to acknowledge our complaint. The furniture was uncomfortable, with no good seating options. While the location was wonderful, the cleanliness, comfort, and communication issues impacted our stay."
