Silo Guest House: Peninsula Parkside Retreat

Welcome to the Silo Guest House hosted by Simple Life Rentals, a truly unique and historic retreat offering unparalleled sunset views and a glimpse into Door County's past. This unique space boasts 17 windows, allowing you to soak in the beauty of the surrounding landscape from the 4th floor living area. Floors 2, 3, and 4 have their own balconies to enjoy the beautiful vistas.

The Silo Guest House is rich in history, once part of a World War II POW camp. Many tales are told of visitors encountering prisoners and guards, adding an extra layer of intrigue to your stay. It's the only livable silo in Door County, offering a truly unique accommodation experience. Located on a quiet dead-end street at the entrance to Peninsula State Park, you'll have easy access to a variety of outdoor activities including biking, hiking, golfing, and swimming.

The Silo Guest House spans four floors, connected by a common stairway, making it ideal for adults seeking a unique retreat. The home offers 2 bedrooms (on two different floors), 1.5 bathrooms and can sleep 6 guests comfortably.
1st: half bath and kitchen
2nd: bedroom 1
3rd: bedroom 2 and full bathroom
4th: living room
Step outside and you'll find a firepit with six chairs, perfect for gathering around and sharing stories under the starry sky. Fire up the charcoal grill or relax at the patio table with four chairs for outdoor dining and activities.

Experience the magic of Door County from the unforgettable vantage point of the Silo Guest House. Consider the neighboring property “Fish Creek Farmhouse” which is connected to the Silo by a closed off breezeway, to rent both units for larger groups!

*This property is located in a quiet community with neighbors and is geared towards quiet family vacations. Due to the proximity of neighbors, we cannot accommodate parties at the property including bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions, or other rowdy gatherings.

*Important Property Notes:
- There are 4 floors of living space so there are many stairs which guests must use consistently. Please consider when booking with children.
- There is no central air conditioning in this property. One window A/C unit is in the living room. Both bedrooms contain ceiling fans.
- No washer and dryer onsite
- No doors on bedrooms

This home is perfect for adults and older children (no young children, please) with a sense of adventure and willing to work for the unbeatable, panoramic view. Each bedroom is on its own floor with the staircase passing through leading to the top floor's living room.

Great location but couldn’t handle the heat
This is a fun, unique venue for a short visit. We were booked for a week but left early due to my allergies and inability to sleep. One window unit on the 4th floor only cooled the 4th floor. High temps and humidity made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. The dehumidifier ran constantly and we emptied it at least 3 times a day. Musty odors killed my allergies and asthma. I would recommend a cooler temp visit as the location is right at the entrance of Peninsula Park for biking or hiking and easy walking to dining and shops. This location had lovely bedding and art but the carpeting, window treatments and paint could use a little attention.
