"We always enjoy our stay at the Lawns when we come to Retford to visit family and friends. The rooms are much bigger than average and there is plenty of wardrobe space. Lovely big towels and a good supply of hot drinks and bottled water.Extremely good value."

"Lovely, cosy pub hotel. Great food with a choice of menus, ranging from the tasting menu to simple (but very well done) pub fayre. We chose from the pub menu, special mention to the fish and chips, perfect! Accompanied by a good choice of drinks, with beer from the local Thornbridge brewery. Very handy spot for local attractions. We stayed for one night on a mini-break and the room was perfect. "This large and very well presented B&B property is ideally situated to visit nearby Hardwick Hall and is just off the motorway. In a safe, rural location, it is purpose built and has plenty of safe easy parking. Our room was spacious well appointed, albeit somewhat functional and lacking decorative touches. The walls are very thin, so our loud neighbour kept us awake most of the night. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate."
