We stayed for 5 nights in the downstairs 2-bedroom apartment at Casavecchia. The pre-arrival directions to the property left nothing to chance and the descriptive photos enabled us to find the property as we'd arrived from a different direction (print them out ahead of time as we did). Stefania was always in communication with us prior to arrival and during our stay. The downstairs apartment was cool at night and despite daytime temperatures in the 90s, we did not need A.C. at night. The half-board breakfast and coffee were a great start to each day. This site is perfect launching point for visiting many destinations in Northern Italy, including Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, Lucca, and Pisa. Even though we had a car we took the train both days into Florence from the closest station to Casavecchia...(Figline)... which was around 10-15 minute drive from Casavecchia. The cost was roughly 8.50 euros per person round trip. Local and express train service is available, with the latter taking about 25 minutes to get to Florence. We dined at San Leo (~700 m down the road from Casavecchia) for a chef's menu dining experience; reservations needed as is request for Fiorentine steak (worth the upcharge). We also dined in Dudda, a short drive from Casavecchia. Our kids loved the infinity pool on the property, overlooking valley of vineyards and olive groves).
