Enjoy the most exclusive Northwoods setting at Sweeney Lake Lodge! This one-of-a-kind Scandinavian hand-scribed log home is nestled amid mature maples on 31 acres along the shores of Sweeney Lake. Custom-designed and personally built by the original owner and his family using 18-inch red pine logs, it is full of meticulous details: a fieldstone fireplace with outside access for logs, white pine tongue and groove interior, hickory kitchen cabinets with black granite countertops, hemlock window frames and black ash bathroom cabinetry. While exploring, be on the lookout--it's very possible that every animal known in the Northwoods lives in or travels through the property. Wild blueberries and other fruits grow alongside the many trails.
The Space boasts plenty of room to spread out. Find 1 main level bedroom and full bathroom with 2 more bedrooms and a full bathroom located on the upper level. You have access to a full kitchen, large formal dining area, amazing great room, breathtaking views throughout the home, garage, outdoor covered seating, and open sunny deck. You're encouraged to cut the cords during your adventure, so you'll find there are no TV screens. Enjoy social time, play games, cook your favorite meals together, and get some fresh air. The Internet is provided allowing you to connect to the outside as needed. Pets are not allowed..
Sweeney Lake is home to Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Panfish. It's been noted that an occasional Muskie has even been caught. The 44-acre lake is mostly private and for that reason it is imperative that guests respect the neighboring properties and the natural habitat of the lake. There is a dock and small launch for guest use. At 14 feet max depth, this lake is good for silent sports and some fishing. Please exercise NO WAKE, nothing larger than a trolling motor. Note that you are located near the Sailor Flowage as well as many other public waterways and state forests.
Snowmobiling & Trail Access for all UTV/ATV/Snowmobile can be found along Hicks Landing Rd as it is open and trail friendly. Towards Highway 70, you can intersect perfectly with corridor trail 101 - 10.
We hope you will enjoy this place and its space as much as the owners do, and experience a rejuvenating feel with a stay here at the lodge!
